Boris, very nice set! Great to see the M9 up and running Beautiful portraits with the M8 and 50 Lux!
KL, thanks for the kind words Excellent shots, particularly #1. Love the PP'ing too!
Gregory, very nice set! My favourite shots are with the Nocti
Andre, I cannot offer, any advice whether the shooting experience is the same with the M3. I went straight from FF, 5DII to the M9, so my criteria was having digital FF, and having to get accustomed and accept the RF ways.
Relms, welcome to the thread and congrats!
Boris, nice set and love the light on #3. Did you have someone hold a reflector card for you?
KL, nice to see Singapore at night. #2 looks like an alien invasion along the lines of the movie Independence Day
Gregory - thanks for the additional info. Good to know. I'd assumed it was because you were photographing the police. I had a similar situation happen to me at a crime scene I was covering for the paper back a couple years ago. A woman got very upset because she was in some of my photos and since there were a ton of cops around, very vocally confronted me and demanded the police arrest me for violating her privacy. It didn't go very far because the nearest cop told her that anyone can take pictures of anyone else on public property. I was very happy to hear him say that. At least some (probably many) police know the rules. I wonder though if there were other reasons your police sided with the complainant... was it someone with a child, etc.?
Very rich colours in the set and like the one of the guy sitting by the car. The additional info about him makes it that much more touching.
Wozza, fantastic portraits. Full of life. Very nice.
So this next set is a location I have shot before. I like to go back and document how things .... return to there orignial state .
I finally got the balls to go inside and after about an hour a heard a car pull up. Now understand this place is in the middle of no where. And it's surounded by tree's and to say it's a little bit spooky is an understatement.
So when I heard a car pull up , I was on edge. Is it the cops coming to arrest me for tresspassing? I didnt see a sign .. Is the owner intent on revenge.. or is it... Natasha
She got out of her car and walked right up and said hello.
After a minute of two she lead me back inside.
She is also a shooter and although she didnt have her camera with her( let that be a lesson to the rest of you) she was kind enough to point out some of the finer aspects of this treasure
I let her play with the M8 ( it was her first time) and also my Nikon D3 with the Nikkor 28 1.4 AF-D ASPH .
With the hole in the floor, debrise everywhere and rusty nails every where. It is so dangerous that I won't go back with out steel shank boots. Natasta was in there on flip flops. The girl has no fear and a spark of life and passion for photography that made me smile.
For several years I used to say to myself , Why isnt anyone else shooting this stuff. Well some else has been. And are paths have crossed. It's very cool to make a new friend.
We had a blast hanging out and are planning a trip to an abandond insane in the near future. She showed me a bunch of work from her face book on her cell phone and she has an hell of an eye.
I will give her face out in the next post when/if I get permission.
Kyle, very nice shots of the hot air balloon shoot with Velvia 50.
Luka, nice set. The #3 28Cron shot is my favorite. Can't wait to see more pics from your trip.
Charles, very nice portraits of the young monks! Also like the pics of your Goddaughter, the 2nd one is my favorite.
Ron, nice series from Geneva & Lausanne, the last street shot from Geneva and the last one from Lausanne are my favorite. The cemetery set is really superb! Like all of them!
Ryan, another nice Tri-X set. The 1st pic is my favorite. How do you like the Ikon and film so far?
Joakim, nice set! #1 is my favorite. The pp on this shot reminds me of film.
Gregory, really like the last 2 sets of your post, especially the street shots of people doing ordinary things. Really nice. Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I hope things get sorted out for you quickly so that it does not distract you from taking these wonderful pics.
Heinz, love that shot of the mannequin's head! You're not alone with shooting with a lens cap on!
Boris, congrats on the M9-P and 21SE! Looks like a stunning lens! Nice pics of your daughter and I like the #1 flower shot. Interesting perspective!
LL, nice shots! You're on a quest to try all the Leica lenses?
KL, very nice set! #2 and 4 are my favorites. Love the color pp on #4!
Relms, congrats on your M9 and welcome to the thread!
Wozza, very nice portrait with the 50/1.5 Sonnar.l. Love the rendering of this lens for portraits.

Back from NYC for the weekend. No real keepers this trip as I wasn't too happy with the results. I did manage to visit the Leica Gallery to view Pete Souza's exhibition. Very nice exhibit. I must say the pics looked so much better in print than in Flickr. What was more interesting was that while Pete shoots mostly Canon, the Gallery manager was quick to say that Pete does shoot with a M8 and M9. Although I must say that based on the EXIF on Flickr, most, if not all the pics on display were shot with either a 5DII or variation of 1D3/4. What was most disappointing was that the gallery had a 90Cron AA on display but its not for sale
Anyway, here's some pics.
Two grocery carts for Gregory 35Lux ASPH
Somewhere in SOHO. 50Lux ASPH
Street shooting? Pick your subject 28Cron. I love the colors and contrast of this lens.
MOMA. 90 Summarit
Spidey @ Times Square. 50 Lux ASPH. Was very difficult to do a proper white balance with the changing lighting.
Nice images LL, Wozza, Charles, Boris.
Gregory - those kinds of places can be very fascinating. Great selection of images and cool to run into another photographer, rather than someone less friendly. I think I can understand why it happens, but still find it troubling that people have a need to destroy vacant property. That said, at a younger point in my life I probably would have joined in had the opportunity presented itself.
Haven't been commenting but watching. Actually I had something long written yesterday and was just about finished when the power went out
Anyways, keeping it short this time...
Ron - you're last couple of series from the cemetery were awesome. #1 & #2 from both sets were my favorite. Makes me feel glad I have the ZM 50 myself...even though I haven't had time to use it much
Gregory - a couple of great sets. The last one my favorite. I love abandoned buildings as well...funny how another photog showed up too.
Boris - I loved your M8 50 Lux sets a page back or two at the park. Also the M9 50 Lux shot of your daughter was great. Congrats on the M9-P and 21 SEM, I definitely want to see how you like that combo
Charles I liked the party shots....cute girl. The portrait on the last page was also great, but I do prefer the 75 Lux versions
Joe - nice set above with the 50 Lux. I agree, 3 & 5 are my favorites. Great look to those shots
I have no pics...haven't touched my camera in almost three weeks. Ran out of vault pics . Way too busy
Man, this thread makes me want to trade in all of my Nikon gear and buy an M9 and lens...of course , that would be all I could afford, if that....nice shots here!
