I've been away for a bit. This thread moves so fast, I'm going to have to go back to see what everyone has been up to.
Here is just a few things I have taken for fun recently...
All were taken with the Noct on the M8.
The more I use this lens, the more I want to keep it, forever! I used to hate the size of it, but it really isn't too terrible when you compare it to a 50L/85L etc. Oh, and it is faster
Ryan, Gary and LL, thanks for the comments
Ryan, there was no moire on the shot at all. I rarely have a problem with moire. Excellent set with the 28 Cron! Superb set of family pics. Love the rendering with the 90 Elmarit, but my fav is with the ZM 50/2 Planar, the last shot
Heinz, nice shot! I see Bob, the horse in the background
Shaun, beautifully rendered shots!
Couldn't really get too close they keep flying away...
Summilux 24 wide open
Great lens - but can someone advise me if there is a way to get rid of the purple fringing using either Photoshop CS5 or Lightroom 3? (i don't own capture one). TIA
LL: The fix in PS is to select the paint brush, set it to color mode, and paint in an appropriate color. In this case, sample the green from the leaves. If it was a more monochromatically neutral scene, you can get away with setting the color swatch to either black or white. In LR, the fix is the same as I explained a while back for fixing color moire. Set the brush to zero for all settings except saturation at -100. Paint over an area, and it will turn B&W. Click on the color selection box in the brush window (under the various slider adjustments) and click the eyedropper on a color you think is OK, and move it around until you find a proper match for the surrounding area.
Well...I found my new UWA. The 21 f/3.4 Elmar looks AMAZING! I need to compare to the ZF 21 MTF but I would think based on looking at what Leica posted today it should be close....maybe even a little better. Distortion is better controlled for sure

(Red=Leica 21 Elmar, Blue=Zeiss 21 Distagon)
If it was not for the fact that it requires an external viewfinder, I would definitely get it.
Hmm.. perhaps I should get rid of the 18 ZM (nice but too wide) and the 25 ZM (nice but not wide enough and too close to the 28 Cron) and get this one instead. That would be going from two external viewfinders to one.. hmm.
Luka, the way you describe, no other conclusion is possible. Interestingly, that would leave you with one Leica-only (apart from 35 Biogon) system and one Zeiss-only (apart from 5DII) system...
I have however never been wholly sold on my ZM lenses. The ZM18 & ZM25 are excellent lenses but in focal lengths that I'm not entirely comfortable with. The funny thing is that I set up myself for that situation - I deliberately chose focal lengths that did not overlap my 5DII lenses, not suspecting that the M9 would completely take over the role as my primary camera. As for the rest... well, the raison d'être for the 50 Sonnar vanished when I got the 50 Lux ASPH. So it's only the 35/2 Biogon that will remain, for stopped down use.

+1 and almost affordable
Luka, I await for your test shots! It really looks like a great lens for a lot of WA work, without the lens being overly large and heavy, and a lot more cost effective. Smart move on behalf of Leica
Ryan, very nice night shot
Henz, nice shot! Beautiful richness with the Velvia.
Boris, more nice pics of the cars. The rendering of the 24Elmar is superb! Without pixel peeping, there is no way I can tell that the first set of 24Elmar pics 2,3 & 4 shots were taken with the M8.
Charles, really really impressive set of portraits from your last trip to Bangkok. Well done!! Love the lunch portraits taken at the temple and also the portrait of the man in the street shot series.
Joakim, very nice B&W set with the 50Lux!
Heinz, I like the "Horse with no Name" and the statue pics, very nice work with the CV 50/1.5 and Velvia 50, I think this lens matches very well with film?
Paul. very nice pics, especially the 4th pic in the 2nd set. Are you back with a M9 now? Floating bench eh?
LL, excellent shots with the 24Lux and 90Cron.
Luka, I really like the construction set with the 90Cron AA. #2 & 4 are really super!
Gregory, nice varied set as always!
Ryan, excellent shots with the 28Cron, 35Lux and ZM50 Planar. Seems like your shooting schedule has not been disrupted at all? How do you like the 50 Planar so far?
Shaun, nice set and nice to see you enjoying the 50Noct and M8. Post more pics soon!
Ron, wow! Stunning composition and colors! Great pp as always. Also, nice to see some "Holy" benches on this thread

Anyone getting the M9-P? Its probably not for me but the 21Elmar looks very tempting!
Not much pics lately, I'm either hopping between airports or stuck with work. I think this one might work in color 28Cron
Joe, thanks for the kind words Very nice shot and in colour too!!! Really nice composition.
I am glad the M9-P is cosmetic, so we can relax until the M10. Then decision time I love the M9 output with the CCD sensor. If the M9-P had a fast and responsive processor, and a high resolution LCD, there would have been a definite interest!
