Beautiful indeed Charles! I didn't realize you shot with M9 and ZM glass. I always saw "Leica" and shied away . What fun.. Very cool work with those beach shots.
Thank you Luka! I felt very comfortable with the M9, and I also felt the people were somewhat curious of the M9 too. I just walked up, and said you look great, great lighting and would you mind if I take a shot. With 5DII, I found people more intimidated with the camera and larger lens, so it made it a lot more awkward for me to ask freely.
The curse of the digital M struck me this week, maybe its my fault for not reading the manual but shooting the Ms are supposed to be simple right? I took the M8 out to a friend's place over the weekend and as I started to take pics, an error message came up asking to reset folder # and saying that memory card is full... As I didn't read the manual , I had a tough time trying to figure out what to do and had to reformat the card and lost some shots.
I think someone really have to be a real Leica aficionado to keep up with the M8's behavior. Think I'll go back to a d-SLR for a week and give it a breather with the M8. Anyway, here's a few pics I salvaged. M8 with Notkon 50/1.5
Thank you Ryan I was very much like you, a fear factor. In the past, I would try and sneak a snap with the 5DII and a 70-200 zoom being more remote, but that did not feel right either, because people would notice sometimes, and it was an intrusion into their privacy.... still learning
Thank you joe Excellent portrait shots. Love #1 and 2.
Does your d-slr kit get much use after you got the M9?
As much as I enjoy my D700, it seems to be staying at home all the time and not getting any use.. I'm contemplating on selling the d-slr kit to fund more rangefinder gear but am unable to pull the plug.. just yet..
charles...the cowboy with sunglasses is fantastic. really liking the shots from that lens. I guess the M9 performs better at high ISO than M8/M8.2? What other improvements -- higher mp resolution?
