Any more of a report on your thoughts on the M EV1? I have been debating upgrading the m8 and I'll probably wait until the 12 is announced to see what's up, but EV1 is tempting.
Nothing meaningful tbh. It felt nice in the hand. It was lighter than I thought it would be, granted I had a 50mm Summicron on it. I wish it had branding on the top plate, it feels a little bare without it. The EVF was solid, though I would probably like something even higher resolution and higher frame rate at this price point. I thought focus peaking worked really well, I was able to get shots in focus in a dimly lit space.
I'll probably need to rent one for a week or more before I know if I want one. My experience with the Q3 and M6 in the past has me feeling like the classic rangefinder experience may be relegated to a film Leica for me. My digital Leica may be an M EV 1 or its successor. I did find the Q3 43's continuous AF to be better than I expected. It's no Sony, but it's better than my X100 VI
This week there was a Guitar festival here in Parma. It was all about classic acoustic guitars. I am told it is a World famous event. Luthiers from around the globe were here showing off their hand made bespoke offerings. Some of these had large 5 figure price tags, and studios had years of waiting lists to receive your guitar. Of course there were also many artists here to audition, network, and perform concerts. I made this portrait of an amazing musician was auditioning a guitar from an Italian woman Luthier located in Vincenza. They were magic together.
