I just got home from the Piedmont wine region of Italy. Yesterday evening we had some clouds blow through for about an hour before sunset. I shot this image looking East from near the village of Serralunga (a World Heritage Site) because it was completely clear to the West where the few other photographers we shooting. So many images from this 3 day trip. I only brought my M11 because it was a trip with my Wife and her Mother. They don't have patience for photography and lots of equipment. to save space. This is a 4 shot vertical panorama so a huge file. M11 and 90mm Voigtlander M f/2.8 APO. I wished I had longer many time on this trip. Next time...
I came across a 28lux that has a price tag that's too good to pass. My initial thought - this is a very romantic lens, glowy wide open under harsh light, but at the same time sharp across the frame. Purple fringing is there, but not as strong as I thought. The colors are essentially Leica, different than when I shoot with Thypoch, rich, and feels "right" (required no color grading like I do with Thypoch) brought me back to my 35mm cron asph days.
There's something about shooting Leica lens on a Leica M, the focus and recompose worked so easily, the field of focus felt predictable, no funky curvature for lack of better words. Focus, and put the subject wherever you want and you get the shot.
It's heavy and pricey, but I'm so hooked by the lux upon my first session with it. Now it got me curious how the Nokton will compare to the lux...
