Back when (before I could afford digital photography) I was dabbling with woodworking ... I recall reading about master cabinet makers, where they could show you 1,000 flaws in their finished works.
Of course, none of which were perceptible to those admiring their beautiful work.

If you look too close at a beautiful mountain ... it's full of dirt.

FYI, I suffer from "looking too close-itis" as well. We can always find "flaws" (i.e. things we'd like to be other than they are) in things.

But, there's a saying we've started to embrace out our house regarding what to do when bananas are almost overripe and you've only got two of them.
Not enough to make banana bread, too ripe to eat ... "Just, let it go, man. Let it go."

Those "too close-itis" things ... not enough to do anything about, not enough to mess up the image ... let it go, man.

You are certainly right. With music and other things I’ve let it make me hate whatever it was I was doing. Somehow with photography it drives me forward harder.

I’m supposedly a really good singer/songwriter. I often can’t stand to hear myself lol

I've been guilty most of my life of "looking too close-itis" .. I pick apart my photos, and usually hate each one I take when I look at them. Takes me a day or two before I'm like "eh this one isn't completely offensive".

I'm trying to learn to let it go and move forward though, perfect advice though.

Rich we can sometimes be our worst enemies. In my opinion you are doing great with your M 10. My advice is be hard on yourself but don't be to hard or unreasonably hard.

Leica M takes time to master. I have been working on it for decades. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. If you stay with it and don't expect perfection (whatever the heck that means in photography) all at once you'll get close to where you might want to be. Probably never fully arrive but that'll keep you trying. To my eyes you've got a GREAT start.

I chatted him up, he shucks oysters all day long - amazingly hard work.

I really like your color processing. Especially p2546 #12. The color is natural and not over saturated like so much color work I see in the digital world today. Well done brother. Keep up the good work.

It is a great image. Everything about it. My only wish is my teenage daughter was still at the age where these shots were a possibility, for me. 😊
