Thanks KL, yes I am still learning this lens, just got it back from Steves Camera Repair in Culver city, and they did a terrific job on the lens! Now I have to use it more often
Phil thanks Really nice shots!
The ND is 0.9, 8x. I must say I really enjoy being able to use the 75 Lux wide open, as it is still very sharp and has the glow.
I would imagine with the Nocti, you might almost need a stronger ND.

Thanks Charles for the info, what might you suggest I get? I am totally clueless
Here is a link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutral_density_filter , on ND filters and how it relates to f stop reduction. I would think you might need a 5 stop reduction, with a density of 1.5. The biggest problem is to find for the filter size what is commercially available as this is usually limits the choices

Regarding ND filters, they can be a necessity but be aware that they are rather destructive when it comes to image quality. Sharpness and contrast typically suffer even with the best filters money can buy. So only use them if you must and take them off as soon as 1/4000 is enough.
With my 5DII I actually prefer overexposing the image and pulling back in post rather than using an ND filter but the highlights are much more difficult to recover on the M9, so it's not really an option.
Ryan, nice sets with the 28Cron adn 35Lux. The 28Cron renders beautifully!
Phil, nice portraits with the 1.0! Very dreamy rendering!
Charles, nice set! Beautiful rendering of the 75Lux wide open!
Luka, more magic with the 50Lux ASPH! Nice set.

I agree with Luka on the filters. Generally I prefer not to use filters because its so inconvenient and I can't ever seem to get rid of the dust spots on the filters. Even with UV or clear filters on the M9, I have to be extremely careful with highlights as I get tons of CA. Always a tradeoff somewhere.
Nice shots with the Noct, Phil. I really like the B/W series!
Charles, the 75 Lux shots look great! Is that lab processing? Those shots are very sharp and the colors are fantastic!
Luka, great shot of the fountain. Can you share the links again to the shots you have taken/posted by lens? I looked over 20 pages back and couldn't find them
Regarding filters, I say .9 is the most you need for f/1.4 and at least 1.2 for the Noct. I have only used mine a handful of times when absolutely necessary in midday sun shooting wide open. Plenty of proof out there that even the best filters impact photos
The last images are from about a week ago as I need to manually update the files to include new images. I should really build something automated.. Looking at that list reminds me that when I got the M9 I promised myself not to buy more than three lenses..
Luka, Joe and Ryan, thanks guys
Ryan, the shots were PP'd with C1 Pro 6.2 into CS5 Lab mode.
Luka, beautiful set of shots! Yes, I do remember when you first got the M9, and very minimalist approach to the lenses
