M11m Leica 24 Lux
Very nice, back in my Nikon days years ago the 24 1.4 was my absolute favorite lens. I have seen a couple of these 24 Lux’s pop up recently, been thinking about giving a fast 24mm another try myself as well. The pinball shot above in particular looks great. How is the handling?

+1 how a 'miss' ... can still be a hit.
Somehow Leica glass seems to pull that cat out of the bag in a way that others often don't.
Seems like when other glass 'misses' ...they just miss (so it seems) in a different way. Words can't explain it ... but, I think folks know it when they see it.
Waxing a bit maybe, but, yeah ...
That, or maybe we just have developed a different appreciation for such things.

This was my first time out with the 24 Lux- The handling on it is pretty ok - Its very front heavy, so you notice the lens a little bit more than you would say a 35 Lux for example. I use a peak design thin strap and just leave it on my side when I go out and it stayed in place just like my other lenses do. It required a little awareness just due to it being a little longer than my normal carry but multiple bar stops, ate an entire steak dinner at the bar, played pinball etc and it never banged around or felt clunky.
It doesn't have a focus tab which I think I might have preferred but focus throw is smooth and after a few minutes it felt natural- Also felt a bit weird not being able to see the framing when focusing but I got used to the added space and really like how the FOV got amplified after I framed it. Odd at first but overall happy-

As far as the M11m goes, it really is my nighttime camera. I never do any sort of noise reduction. The files are always clean enough I don't even think about it.
Front-heavy lenses collect fewer droplets and less dust/debris, on the front element, during a day of walking-about. A lens that tilts downward is a good thing; their “faces” remain cleaner.
Some complain when a lens makes an M camera tilt forward, when hanging by the strap lugs. I simply shift the camera, so that the base plate is against my body, so that the lens is vertically downward. This is actually quite stable, when using my Summilux-M 50mm ASPH, Distagon 35mm ZM, APO Summicron-M 75mm ASPH, and Thambar-M 90mm f/2.2 lenses.

I am currently looking at the vintage 35mm f/2 Summicron 8 Element for the very same reason. Here is a shot I did at the Leica LSI event in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. Someone let me try the lens out and I really like it's color, rendering, and unique handling.

The 8e is a great lens! I have one and I really like it. At f/2 and above I prefer the 8e. f/1.4 and f/1.7 I like the lux, obviously hah.
