That is the kind of shot where I really appreciate the tilt feature of Leica's EVFs. Much more comfortable on the neck than trying to look straight up.

Pretty sure I used the tilt EVF for this one on the M240 & 21 SEM:

Some more from the 'Golden Room' (Goldene Saal) in Augsburg (Germany) city hall back in February 2019 just before they closed for the day and got some nice low on the horizon sunlight through the windows to boot.

Ron, the golden tones are fantastic. Do you still use the M240 or have you moved on?

Thanks Ryan! Moved on from Leica? No, I'm still in the system and the M240 is still my main M body. I also still have my M9 but haven't used it for some time. Nor have I added much to the system in a few years. I'd like to transition to the M10 series eventually with preference for the R, but realistically it might be a while.

I don't use the M as much since I transitioned from Canon 1D series DSLRs to Canon's mirrorless system about 1.5 years ago. For walkabout photos I rarely brought the Canon DSLRs because they were huge and heavy. But the mirrorless cameras that replaced them are a lot smaller and I'm more apt to carry them. They're not that much larger than an M, though the lenses are still pretty big. The big deal for me is these cameras have IBIS, which has expanded my hand held shooting envelope for certain subjects well beyond what I can usually achieve with the M. I prefer working hand held as much as possible and in some situations I'm just not able to hold the M steady enough at marginal shutter speeds, particularly if I want to keep ISO low, stop down for depth of field and/or am also using a polarizing filter. For landscape outings I was actually using the M on a tripod, which was OK because it opened up other opportunities, like using long shutter speeds. But now with IBIS in my mirrorless cameras, I can work hand held, stop down to f/8, keep the ISO low, use a polarizer and not care so much if the shutter speed is 1/15 or 1/30. With the M and a 50mm, I need to work at or above 1/125 and ideally at 1/250 and higher so I don't have to think about it.

That said, wandering around town, I much prefer the more discreet nature of the M compared to the size of the lenses I have for the mirrorless system...

I'd really like to see an M with IBIS and a stacked sensor...

Some from the archive: 2018, first day of a visit to Taiwan, stopped in a little town in Tongxiao Township. Last two photos are Gaomei Wetlands where apparently you can walk fairly far out in the water.

M240 & VM35/1.7, last four are 28 Lux

These photos were mostly a 'make myself busy' project that day to stave off the overwhelming desire to sleep due to jet lag.

Yep, it is so small and useful. Fun little extra I didn't think I would like so much. I wish it was compatible with my M 11.
