Yes, I feel at home in Rome, even though my family is from the south. I was really proud of my daughter that morning. I told her I’d wake up at 5 a.m. for a photo walk to avoid the tourists and the intense heat. She quickly agreed to join me, and we had a great time exploring the Colosseum and the Roman ruins together. I hope she cherishes that day! I know I will.

My mother was from Serrastretta. They fled Fascist Italy in the 1920's.
Italy is my 2nd home and I carry an Italian citizenship.

Serrastretta is around 50 miles from Cariati, where both of my grandparents came from. Their parents also left Italy for similar reasons, but instead of heading to the US, they moved to São Paulo, Brazil.

I went out to photograph ComicCon today. Too soon after my surgery. Only 6took a few shots then had to go home and lay down. All with the D-Lux because it is so easy. I never even took my beloved M11 out of the bag. But hey, I gave it a go..
