Sunset over the Ponte Vecchio from just out front of our apartment. The weather this trip is perfect, and the Tuscan colors are just so wonderful as always. Shot with my grandchildren as we were walking home from dinner.
I love Florence and I have several images from this same location. Looks like you have good weather and lighting! Great stuff.
As we all know Italian life is based around food. This includes the small restaurants you eat at every day. The spirited Italian hospitality always makes you feel so welcome. My Wife and i had lunch at this little street side place. The food of course was excellent, the atmosphere was Florence, and the service a joy to experience.
This evening we decided to eat in our apartment with the family. We had staff come in and cook us an excellent home made Italian meal. It was superb, and my Wife didn't have to lift a finger, which always puts here in a great mood.
We have a residual tradition in our family where the eldest male(i know, don't say it) is head of family and sits at the head of the table during family meals. The tradition had me waiting to assume the role until my Father's passing. I have been in that position for a couple of decades now. I decided not to have my Son wait. So, this evening I moved over and officially surrendered the head of the table to him. It was a wonderful and proud moment for me. He deserves it, he is a very good Father, business leader, and family man. I think I enjoy seeing him at the table more than he can know at the moment.
I am blessed.
I shot this family portrait using the Photos App. It is a great tool.
The landscape is looking out one of our apartment's living area window across the Arno river at Accademia during blue hour. I spend a lot of time enjoying this view, and the entertaining traffic on the streets and river below. Our master bedroom has this same view.

Happy wife is severely underrated….goes a long way. Great story and an amazing view you have, enjoy each minute of the vacation.
The fotos app convinced me to finally ditch all Nikon equipment and fully move back to Leica, the app is by far the best I’ve used for any camera
