Of note... IMO the Cron 50 v5 is wildly unappreciated nowadays. I shoot with it much more than my Lux 50 because the handling is perfect - focus throw and weighting is perfect, it always seems to nail focus, size is great, sharpness and boo-kay are just lovely.
This roll is basically to test my new to me Leica 28-70 ROM.
Yeah, I've seen the bad 'reviews' online but frankly I'd think that Leica - even associated (or especially?) with Sigma would not make a bad lens.
Build quality is very sweet, with super solid feel and smooooth focus and zoom rings. I used to have the 35-70 ROM f4 but sold that with my R7. I didn't think I'd miss it using just primes instead but zooms are so handy!
One thing that drew me to this lens was the compact size. If it was big I wouldn't use it no matter how great it could be optically.
Also, the fact that it was the ROM version meant it was the latest one made - which is good for the ROM flash capability, but also it would have the latest optical formula.
Anyway, it was half the price of the 35-70 ROM, and to me has a much more useful zoom range.
Sweet one. Looks so much like my Charlie right there.
