Been away past few days, internet was too slow to check in on this thread.
Nice to see you all moving along, great shots everyone: KL, Ryan, Joakim, Phil, Luka, Charles, Juano, Ron (those street portraits are superb!)
Congrats Lovinglife on the M9.
Charles, glad to know your 90Cron AA is finally back.
Thanks all for the comments few pages back. My copy of the 35Lux ASPH v1 is tack sharp, haven't really noticed any focus shift on it.
Was in Charlotte NC for work this week. Brought along the 28Cron. First impressions, I really like the 28 focal length, the added depth of field using zone focusing is a plus. This lens seems to draw somewhere in between the older DG design and the newer ASPH. Very smooth, yet sharp. The only drawback for me is that I wear glasses and the framelines could be difficult to see sometimes.
Ryan, very nice series. Very nice rendering with #2, and I love #3
Joe, thank you Excellent shots! I really like #2, with the movement and rendering. The 28 Cron is a great lens, but I have the same problem with the frame lines for the 28 too, with my mulit focals
Luka, I can't help it but the Ferrari photo is my favourite
Ryan, nice sunset photo.
Joe, you captured the airport mode very well in that set.
Charles, great colours in the second one.
Ryan, interesting comparison of the different lenses
Joe, cool series. #3 is my favorite - I really like how the floor pattern leads to the sitting guys.
Charles, interesting bokeh shots with the 90 AA. Have you done any comparisons to the 90 V3?
Joakim, I'm guessing he's shooting the mother of all gray cards

I went looking for something interesting to shoot in an industrial area recommended to me by a friend. I spent about an hour walking around without finding anything interesting industrial decay, but then I hit paydirt...
Luka, wow.. excellent shots! I really like #1, the angle and B&W rendering, and #2 the Mandler style rendering just stands out on this shot.
I have not done a direct comparison with the 90 Cron AA and V3 yet, but they are very different. In focusing, I find the V3 a lot easier to focus than the AA. I think this has to do with the design of the focusing mechanism. Both are very accurate, but there is more of critical area of focus with the AA that can be missed, probably more sensitive in the focus throw. The AA is very sharp at f/2, whereas the V3 has the beautiful Mandler style rendering. I do find my version of the 75 Lux easier to focus than the 90 Cron AA, and on par with the V3.
Wow Luka! These shots are awesome. This is one of my favorite sets you have posted. My favorite are definitely #2 and #3. I am really surprised by #2....that shot screams 3D from a 90 Cron pre ASPH. I love it! #1 is also an excellent shot. I need to find some trains
Luka - excellent sets! Love especially the first one in the second set.
Joakim: funny things people do, eh? My guess is he's photographing his rug collection to put up for sale on eBay.
Joe: great airport images! I like Charlotte airport. The food court food is reasonably good and the rocking chairs are nice if you can find a vacant one. Logan though I'm not so crazy about, at least the last time I was there. I prefer Newark as a gateway across the Atlantic.
Ryan - looks like you're getting good use out of the M9 and have already started to collect a small dust spot or two! It seems every time I go out at least one significant piece of dust finds its way onto the sensor.
Charles - nice rendering from the 90AA!
Lovinglife: Let's see some photos from the 21 Lux!! Definitely a lens I'm interested in, though whether I'll get one...
Here's some more from the big day we had here in Canadian politics on Thursday evening when the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition both held rallies within about an hour and one km of each other. I didn't go into the PM's rally because the assignment was to concentrate more on local color around the event and the Conservative Party is fairly restrictive (controlling) about access and requires media accreditation in advance. Besides, it would have made me late for getting local color from the second rally. The Liberal Party in contrast didn't require media pre-registration and I basically walked in with everyone else and got some shots. Interesting the difference between the two. Understandable that the Liberals are more relaxed because they need as much publicity as they can get.
I also shot a fair amount with the Canon, but below is a mix from the M9 with the ZM21 and ZM50:
Conservative Party supporters:
University students:
Steelworker's union members - US Steel workers have been locked out by the company since November and have had no luck getting government support for their situation:
Liberal Party supporter:
Dr. Alan Earp, Order of Canada recipient and former president of a local university:
An impromptu debate breaks out:
Liberal Party boosters (I liked the light halo):
Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff speaks:
Arnab Ghosh was very happy to get an autograph from Mr. Ignatieff:
Great set, Luka, with the first and third my favorites in that order!
I love your last shot, Ryan!
Ron, tremendous pics. My faves are the close-ups, which are jaw-dropping!
All of you, well done!
