m10p. Playing around with the CV 35 1.4 SC. Curious to try a steel rim reissue and compare.
That rendering looks great.
I returned my Steel Rim reissue due to stiff focusing. Didn't like the focus shift, either. My v2 didn't have that level of focus shift, but never tried the original Steel Rim.
Your Voigtlander has the Steel Rim beat with regard to:
– Focusing smoothness out of the box
– No fumbling around with an infinity lock
– Hoods work with filters
– External design seems nicer – the wide mouth on the reissue makes it look too thick to me
– 0.7m MFD
– Price
Steel Rim does better (and why I would buy it again if I did):
– Glow at f/1.4
– Less distortion
– Rainbow arc flare (take it or leave it – I feel it's too cartoonish for some subjects)

I have the FLE, the Distagon 35 and some others. But I am really surprised by how much I enjoy using - and the results from - my CV 35 1.4 II.
