I was surprised (and delighted) to see "Eternity" written on the street preacher's makeshift rostrum. When I was a teenager I frequently encountered the word in yellow chalk on the footpath as I wandered around Sydney. It had been written by Arthur Stace (Mr Eternity), an Australian war veteran and former alcoholic who converted to Christianity in the early 1930s and continued spreading this message until he died in 1967.
A local street musician down by the waterfront. The building behind him is unique. It is made out of metal scales like a fish would have. It has been shinny bright metal, but was recently painted black which I think worked well for this shot.
