Boring picture from the back yard, but it was my first time testing bulb mode on the M10-R. 60 second, f/11 exposure with an ND filter.
In camera bulb mode is very well implemented! But really don't like how you can not disable long exposure noise reduction. It can be disabled on the SL2/S, but not a M10.

The M11 let's you disable long exposure noise reduction as well. This has been a long time coming. I would use it much of time because it is easy, but it is nice to have the option to turn it off.

Interesting, I wonder if that'll be in the next firmware upgrade or if they are going to hide that feature hoping to get more people to upgrade.

At pixel level, even wide open, the Thambar captures fine detail around the center area but spherical aberration overwhelms the image with low contrast and glow which gives the scene a soft look without noticeable axial CA. This is of course the main characteristic of the lens.
I have been experimenting with it and so far have learned that to minimize SA while still getting some glow, a good start is to stop the lens down to ~f/4 or f/4.5 when using the spot filter and ~f/2.8 or f/3.2 without it. At these apertures the lens is way sharper with decent contrast while still providing a unique look.

I would not hold my breath for this one. We have been requesting a firmware option to disable LENR for the M10 series bodies but Leica only provided this functionality for the SL2 and M11.
Most of us have that one image from a day out shooting, this was todays for me... Not a great shot by any means, but something about it I just like. Also processed it in B&W, but can't decide which I like the best.
