Yeah, she's all right. Thanks for asking. Just a minor procedure.
While we were waiting, I also tried out the "new" 90 cron pre-AA I picked up this morning on CL. I've never shot with the current 90 cron AA, but for $1k and, literally, a mint condition copy of previous gen version, I'm thinking it looks pretty sweet. Seems sharp enough for me (below).
Charles, those on the previous page look very good. It seems that lens is very nice when used close up.
ZM35 f/2.8 @f/8 I think, from the back yard.
Getting reacquainted with the M9. I picked up a thumbs up and a CV15 yesterday. Liking the thumbs up. Haven't shot much with the 15 other than a bunch of test shots and setting up a cornerfix profile, which was very necessary. First impression is that the lens is very sharp corner to corner, especially for ~$550.
Jeremy - Way to time the 'moment'. I bet he said "just a little pinch..."
Phil Exposure looks good. As far as tips I guess make sure you've got the exposure compensation set to the dial for quicker access, and know that the metering on the M9 is closer to a spot meter than the typical field of a DSLR, so you have to be more cognizant of the rest of the frame, esp. for highlights. I like the vignetting on the 2nd image - did you add this?
Jeremy - great capture on getting the emotion. Her face shows some serious pain from such a tiny needle
h00ligan - I have been there and this is coming from experience.....get the better lenses for the Leica (or any system for that matter). I would agree with Joe and get the 35 Cron. I have the ASPH and I enjoy this far more than the 35 f/2 Biogon I had. Joe mentions the ASPH and the version IV...but I have also heard very good things about the version III. If you don't mind a little slower lens...the Zeiss ZM 35 f/2.8 c-biogon looks very nice. Go to stevehuff.com for the review
A 50 is closer to a 70 and a 25/28 is going to act as a 35 on the Leica with the crop. I had the Zeiss 25 and it always felt wider than 35 where I think a 28 would be more like a 35. Out of the 28's I have seen very good things from the Leica 28 f/2.8 Elmarit preASPH...forget the version, either III or IV. The 28 Cron is out of this world price wise (and image quality wise) and the Voigtlander 28 f/2 has some nasty focus shift.
Regardless, hope you get the M8....much better camera than is given credit

Steve Thanks for the information, me coming from nikon and canon I had it a little easier when using them especially the nikon's.
The vig on 2 was from the M9, no post, plus it was the overhead light directing to the painting thus the vig look
If I sold you the Cron, then I would have no lens! .
You guys been busy here today, lots of new stuff.
Phil, you know I Was wondering how the 500D would work on these, gosh focus will be interesting. lol. I have step up rings to step up to 77mm now. At least I hope my numbers are all right. 39-49, then 49-77.
Nice series Phil. To add to Steve on the exposure, the M9 has lots of shadow detail, 2 stops easily. If you shoot in Aperture Priority, it has a tendency to protect highlights and could underexpose but you can recover the details most of the time. Try shooting some test shots in bright and back-lit environment. Personally I don't like to use the dial for EV comp, its too easy to accidentally shift and forget to check. I revert to Manual for trickier exposure and adjust from there, but I know everyone is different.
Steve, nice commentary, pics like those of your girl will be become precious little memories when you look back years from now.
Ron, share some 15CV pics please... I'm considering if I should get this or the 21CV.
Ryan, this 50Lux is really nice. Like the toning on #3, suits the subject!

Edit, nice shot Doug - I prefer the B&W one, nice tones. Before you know it, you will have a bag of Leica lenses. Leica lust ..damn...
We've hit over 150 pages on this thread, we've seen some gear porn and unshaven legs , why not share some self portraits with your digital M or X? Since this IS the camera that you see many take pictures of the camera or themselves in front of the mirror. I wonder why?
I'll start off (hope this doesn't backfires on me). M9 50CronV3 from this morning, waiting for my oil-change, just could not resist when I saw a nice big mirror
Joe
p/s I'm left eye so this is not my regular stance, I envy you right eye shooters
I usually refrain from posting personally identifiable images online... perhaps one reason I like to be behind the camera than in front, haha..
Re the CV15: I'm sure I'll put it to use in the next few weeks.

Ed, all of my ZM35mm images have been the f/2.8 c-biogon. I'm generally very happy with it. Small, light, high quality optics. But for a crop sensor where it would effectively be similar to a 50mm for angle of view, I would probably want something faster. For me 50mm field of view has always been about speed for when you need it.
