I am in Hong Kong and would like to check out some Leica gear. Perhaps a used M240 or Leica Q. Any suggestions on which stores to seek out? Being from Canada, does it make any sense to buy gear over here? I haven't even checked into pricing yet.
Last I checked, Hong Kong had some of the best Leica pricing anywhere... but you might have to seek it out. Not sure about the bigger stores. Someone suggested Fotopia to me once, but have never dealt with them. A quick look at their new lens pricing and it seems to be around 15-20% less than US retail. There's a place called NPC that seemingly has great prices and from some PMs I had with a fellow FMer who actually visited them in person, they seem to be legit. Here's their Facebook page.
Ryan, love the one of Superman in the food court!
A bunch with the M240 & CV35/1.7 while visiting friends...
Great images, guys. I still visit this thread daily. A great inspiration.
I sold my M9 today because I haven't actively used it for a while. For landscape, I took S, for family picture, I use DSLR with R glass. I seldom have the chance to go around city now, life has been more busy now. Keeping the lens though. I haven't decide what to do next yet for the M system. I might get M240/MP in the future. At least I feel it suit me better for tripod use.
The last time I used M9 was two weeks ago from Point Lobos, CA.
Here are a few images during that trip with 28cron, enjoyed the experience very much.
