Charles, this is the first time I see shots where I am beginning ot think that an M9 could actually have my name on it. I feel I couldn't get the result from that first shot of yours. Thanks for posting...
Thanks Rod Really nice shots. The portrait is my favourite.
I should be receiving my 50 Sonnar from Popflash tomorrow too, optimized for f/1.5. Since the M9 has been recalibrated, the lens are performing much better, so hopefully this lens will be OK.
Thank you Philippe Steep learning curve, but I am starting to appreciate what an excellent camera it is.

really sad to see all these images without any composition, gestalt and meaningful moments.
the problem sits between the ears. q.d.e.
Interesting how some people choose to criticize others rather than post something they'd like to see. If you don't care for what's been posted, why don't you show us some of your work Ixania?

I don't mind the criticism, I would like to know how to get better. But just coming in and saying the shots are meaningless really doesn't help. I'm not a pro, don't get paid, just have fun doing it. I would love to hear how to get better, just don't come in talking s$%t without offering suggestions
Rod, does your ZM 25 focus to infinity? When I am looking in the viewfinder mine doesn't appear to but when I get home and look on the computer all shots are sharp.

Well, mine focuses to infinity but I'm like you: I have a hard time telling if it really is through the viewfinder. I think that's a test it and then go on faith issue for those of us whose eyes aren't what they used to be.

+1
Xania, I would be more respectful of the critique, if you are open, and have a website that presents the style of work that you aspire to.
Nice shots Rod
Just received my ZM 50 Sonnar. Have to give a test run

I just get tired of people on here who have such condescending attitudes. There seems to be a category of photographers that think that because they've been doing it a long time that they have the vision and all the answers. I think maybe Fred should add a forum for those who think they're superstars and then they could go have the "mine's bigger then yours" pissing contest with people who are into that.
To begin with, good photography like beauty and other art is in the eye of the beholder. I don't care how good anybody is, somebody doesn't care for their work. That's the nature of the beast. If we see his work, we may think it's good, we may not. But if he criticizes then doesn't post, I have to question why. Think you're too good? Afraid you're not good enough? When you start putting other people's work down, you better expect somebody to call you out and you better have something good to offer.
Sorry for the rant but his post was uncalled for and he owes everybody who's posted on here an apology. Back to our regularly scheduled program.
Thanks Charles. Look forward to seeing what you do with the Sonnar. Did you get yours from Popflash? I was a little bummed yesterday when mine turned up lame. Hopefully, I'll have the replacement by next week.
Yes from Tony at PopFlash. Since the M9 is just recalibrated, I should be able to tell very quickly.
Yes, same problem with ZM 50 f/1.5 Sonnar, optimised for f/2.8. I have just spoken to Wayne of Camera Clinic in Melbourne, and they will recalbrate the lens to f/1.5 quickly for me. At least this way, I will now be certain. Frustrating but reassuring.
I wouldn't take his post to heart. I just read his recent critiques on the dedicated photo sections and he slams everyone without offering useful advice. Must be compensating for being trod on in his regular (read - offline) life.
I would happily eat my words if he links me to his magnum gallery
On topic, Charles - Tony at Popflash is great, he sold me all my ZM's.

Tony at Popflash has been amazing help, and could not say enough. Some of QC issues, is out of his control. It is just great to have access, to a great service center with a quick turn around.
Ixania, when you want to quote in Latin, please do it right. Else people will form an opinion about you...:-))))) Such as your being no Cicero...:-))))
Don't bother with Ixania, if you search on his previous posts you'll see he is just a troll. Granted there is a humorous element of pretentiousness combined with ignorance in his posts here but mostly he seems to be just somebody enjoying internet anonymity to be rude to other people.
Unfortunately some people when given anonymity combined with an audience start behaving like complete idiots.
