I saw that one too, but passed on it because of the white writing on the outside. The Canon one is just black so it's nice and discrete. I mainly wanted a hood for protection of the front element and it's definitely perfect for that.

I got it from Jeff at Photocreative. I got on the list fairly quickly, but thought I'd wait months. If you are in the area, Ron, let me know and you could stop by and give it a try. I'd be interested in your thoughts.
I stopped in Eufaula, Alabama on my back from Atlanta yesterday, and took these two shots with the M240 and 15 CV-M III, a lens I am starting to like quite a lot.

Cal, I am curious... how do you see the Q fitting into an M kit? I think of the Q as, perhaps, an entree into the world of Leica. A way to experience photography with a simple, yet highly capable camera, where the photographer, not the camera, decides the outcome. And with this experience comes the desire to want more, and that more would be to move up to the M series, with more lens choices and more artistic capability.
I see the Q as a brilliant step by the marketing folks in Wetzler to introduce more people to the Leica brand. Many of those who can afford to move up to the M series will do so; others are still able to experience shooting with a Leica - probably for life.
Cal, I will be extremely interested in hearing from you and others on these points.
Robert, even though I decided not to get the Q, I too believe it fits really well in an M set up. The looks are very similar, the color and general sensor output is similar, and it offers a couple of features that complement well the M, like close focus and macro mode, and AF which can be useful in "some " situations. The built in evf at the traditional rangefinder position is certainly a big plus.
