Really enjoying the images over the last few pages!
Edward, wow, that would be brutal. Yesterday was hovering near 30 here, humid and no breeze, and it's only late May. Reminded me a bit of being in Taiwan. Photos from which will likely take a while to filter through to here...
In the meantime, some shots from a walk in the local woods. Harsh, sunny midday light. Maybe feeling a bit bored, so went abstract, in part to try to tame the contrast and get it to work for me. While this kind of motion blur technique is nothing new for tree photos, I'm trying to nuance it so that it's not just a complete blur and some of the 'normal' scene comes through. Thus far it's not very consistently repeatable (which is part of the fun)...
Here's a normally photographed 'before' scene, as well as 'after':
M240 & ZM50/2, except last one with 90AA. #4 is my 50 Lux ASPH after recent servicing by Leica. Looks to be back to normal. (In actuality, now the Lux focuses past infinity and image sharpness is degraded unless very, very carefully focused with the EVF... of course due to this it also back focuses when using the RF... They want me to send in my camera with it, yet have not offered up any kind of loaner in its place... I can live without the lens, but not without the camera, especially if it takes ~2 months like usual)
I'll save the more headache-inducing ones for later.
Richard - not sure what to suggest. My experience there (primarily Manhattan) is as a tourist. I try to wander around as much as possible. You'll stumble across interesting side streets between touristy areas, but in terms of actual interesting areas.... I don't know. Someone who lives there will know better.
For the touristy spots I like Central Park and The High Line. The latter tends to be fairly busy, but it's kind of fun for people watching.
Gary, looks like a lot of fun. Your kids sure are getting bigger!
René - fun shots of the guy with the TV. You'd think he would have anticipated this and brought along a folding cart, or similar.
Charlie - I continue to be impressed by many aged but lovely cars in your neck of Idaho. Maybe it will be the last place with these around after Cuba modernizes and all the old iconic cars in Havana are replaced with Toyotas and Hyundais?
