Thank you Gary, Zhangyue for your comments! I was sure the cat photo would be popular

Gary, very nice close ups set. The 1st shot reminds me a bit of the biogon bokeh.

Zhangyue, I'm suspecting the 28cron was designed by Zeiss Beautiful shots, love them all!

Werner, have really enjoyed your images... love your thorough titles and thoughts.
Rene - HI! I've been looking at your work on here too and really enjoy it. So glad to see you posting!
Gary - congrats on the new 35! I see you are working your regular magic with it...

I FINALLY got my M loaner from Leica (they are back on my good list). Took it out for a brief run today - thankfully the rain held out for a day ... probably will be rainy the rest of the week, though. The shutter is different than my M-E, and I accidentally recorded a movie (doh!), but other than that, smooth so far. Will try out the low light capabilities and use live view indoors. I will also be trying it with some off camera flash... I really need to see this thing shine to give up my M-E.

Just a few today with the 50 lux asph (which was so thankful to come out of the bag today...)

BUNNY!!!!

So a landscape or wildlife photog, I am NOT. Here are some more in my element ... inside/low light. Just snaps from tonight. All with the 50 lux.

Great sets, Katie! You may find the M feels a bit more immediate when pressing the shutter release. It's ready sooner for the next shot, compared to the M-E/M9. The 50 Lux ASPH is such a great lens, optically. I'm not entirely sold on its mechanics, at least based on mine working itself wobbly so often now. It seems the 'vintage' 60s Lux lens body design in black chrome that was revived for the Lenny Kravitz special edition will become available in regular production, too (minus the brassing )

Here's Leica's Facebook post for it I found over at RFF... If Leica would do a partial trade against mine, I'd be tempted to switch to this design. Also no pull-out hood that I strongly dislike... Wonder how much it will be...? Oh, there's also a black chrome version of the 35 Cron ASPH too.

Very nice peeps!
Just got my M240 yesterday. May sell my M-E.
Things I noticed it makes a sound when turned on and off (almost like a shutter click), is that normal? I did not use Live View. Same size as the M-E, but heavier.

First shot testing it. M240, Lux Asph 50.

I much prefer the Korean special edition 35 summicron body design. Wish they'd bring that back.
Though I was toying with the idea of giving the 35 summicron another chance.

My dealer told me there are only 200 pieces of the 50 lux old design. But the facebook post doesn't say anything about that.

I hope the 35/2 metal hood can be bought separately for my "regular" 35/2.

Great work everyone!

I finally got the EVF 2 for my M and I'm very pleasantly surprised at how easy and accurately I can nail focus without magnification. I know it's like blasphemy in a rangefinder group but I think I much prefer it to the OVF especially in low light. The biggest advantage for me is the ability to frame first and focus without the need to recompose. Now if Leica can make one that has a lower profile and can be stored on camera in the bag, that would be really perfect.

Bijltje - I was told they're producing them as needed for a while. As in, no limited run, just being produced while demand is there. HOWEVER, the person I talk to at Leica can be a bit misinformed. I was told something "secret" and it has not materialised yet, when it should have.

Blasphemy Edward!!! I bought an EVF the day I got my M240 but have only used it a couple of times. I found it great (yes, I admit it) for lenses 90mm and longer. However, for anything shorter I found it not necessary and kind messed with the "flow" of my style of shooting. With your low light shooting, I could see it being very handy.
