Adam, exactly what I thought. The flowers shot looks like a flat file that has been enhanced in post. The portraits are simply amazing. But the sample shot really shows how flat is the original output. To my taste I think the files need a bit more saturation but not so much contrast, to preserve the MF look.

Adam, just as I am about to sell of my S2 kit , you reminded me why I bought into the system - the lenses - I agree with you they get out of the way all the time, they don't color the subject like other lenses, transparent. Crap still looks like crap but beautiful subject looks beautiful and true, just like the portrait you shared
I'm trying to keep my lens inventory down to basics. Was about to trade my 0.95 for 50Lux ASPH but when I put it on the camera yesterday to make sure everything is alright, I just can't bear to part with this lens, at least for now, there is nothing quite like it out there

Congrats Joe, Revel makes nice gear. And very nice looking at that. Boy, audio, guitar, photo...a man of many talents Seriously though, it is great to have 'outlets' for creativity these days given how quickly/demanding they've become.
Vik, beautiful portrait, but there seems to be some back focus. The plane of sharpness seems to be on the nose ridge not the near eye.

Edward, I agree and like your observation very much. I often use nose ridge for focus as it gives short line on profile view. I don't ask my son to pose most of the times because it makes some funny face when he knows I am taking a picture. I like it when he is himself doing something. I was hoping the depth of field will let me keep his eye in focus as I use nose ridge but I think he was too close on this shot and DOF was shallow. Glad you pointed out coz now I am gonna remember to take this into account if I am filling the whole frame with 75. Thanks. Vik

Thank you Vik. I think most viewers would like to see very sharp eyelashes on the nearest eye but of course there is no right or wrong in this particular shot.

Joe, I also listed my Noctilux... In the end I sold the M240 Silver (since it was a backup to my backup and I'm not a huge fan of the silver color body with all my black lenses).
I haven't taken down the listing, but I'm not selling anything else for a while. The second I sell something, I end up regretting it and buying it again at a higher price

I've been looking over the options, and while I think I'm fine with my little crazy sonnar that's coming and my current CV 50/1.1 which I'm very happy with really (I also have the Canon LTM 50/1.2), I was impressed with the 3K SLRmagic .95: Which Huff compares to CV HERE

I am considering a 24mm lens for my MM and maybe A7 sony.
Right now I have 18 SE, 28 cron, 35 cron, 50 cron and 90 summarit.
There are three options, 25/2.8 zeiss, 24/2.8 elmarit and 24/3.8 elmar.
Does anyone have experience with these? How they differ from eachother.
I have read the 25 zeiss actually is more a 26 or 27 and by that is very close to my 28mm lens. So I would prefer the leica's for that.
To my understanding the 24/3.8 is very similar to the 18 SE. The older review I see from the 24 elmarit its more close to the classic rendering of the 28 and 50 cron. Is this correct?
And does any of the three work nicely with the A7? I know the 24/1.4 lux works great with the A7 but I am not looking for that big a lens.
The 25 is actually 25.6mm. You can check the aov on Zeiss webpage and compare it to your 28. None of the lenses you mentioned works well on the a7. They are all superlative performers on M bodies so pick anyone you fancy

Don't believe everything you read - especially from me. Looking through my images, I still feel that the ZM25 AOV behaves like a 26/27mm lens. This is really splitting hairs though and wouldn't make much difference in real world shooting. It would probably be safest to listen to Edward and check the data on the Zeiss web page. I absolutely love the ZM25. The only (minor) thing with me is that I feel I am much quicker to focus with the style of focus tab on my Leica lenses. I would like the Zeiss "bump" to be a bit more pronounced (personal preferance). Are you looking for an all around lens or for a specific type of shooting? Trying to find something that would work well on A7 might be the most challenging part.....

I think I just have to give them all a try. The 25mm zeiss looks like a real winner, especially with its price trough there is a 28 elmarit for sale for 1500 euro, and a elmar for 1695. So not that more expensive than the zeiss (1095 euro)..
More contrast sounds like a good combo with the monochrom.
But I'm not sure if it would have much use when its so close to the 28mm. 4mm difference seems like a very small difference allready...
