Adam, sorry to hear about your focus issues with the Noct f/1. Not an easy lens to focus wide open. I don't have experience with this lens but even with your pic out of focus, the Noct f/1 seems draws beautifully, very unique look. It kind of pulls me into the shot, I like this lens.
Daniel, nice shots
Philippe, congratulations on the NEX 5. Very nice shots!
Seth, nice shots. You have a collection of very nice lenses
Jim, really nice shot.
Adam, I love the rendering of the shot. Hopefully the focus issue can be sorted out
Joe, excellent shots! The colours and PP are great
Here some shots from the last few days in Melbourne
Nice shots with the 28 Charles, looks like a terrific lens. My favourite is clearly the second photo but it also works nicely for portraits. Only thing I object to is the vignetting that is a little to much for my taste. Is it very different to work with a 28 instead of a 35 mm on the M9 when it comes to composition and framing (I assume your not using an external viewfinder)?
I like the last shot as well but that guy doesn't look to happy being photographed.
Thank you Joakim The 28mm FL is my favourite lens to work with for travel. The frame lines are the width of the VF with M9 so no external VF is needed.
Thank you Joe Yes the 28 Summicron is second hand, but as new! You are right few of the shots are from the hip, just set it on f/5.6, hyper focal from 1.5m to infinity, and you have an expensive P&S. Yes the shot of my fiancee is with the 28 Cron, wide open at f/2.0 .
Nice shots Joe! I really like the look that you get from that 50 Cron and the 35 Cron. I think I actually prefer the rendering of those than the newest version of the lenses.
Lovely shots Charles! Very interesting change of perspective in the shots. The last 28 color cron shot is also interesting, although I'm more partial to the B/W shots.
Joakim, nice winter shots! The snow here in Stockholm has completely melted away unfortunately..
Thanks Luka I agree the subtle rendering with Leica lenses lend themselves well to B&W shots. I left on a IR filter by mistake on the 28 Cron, so the subtle tones would not as clear. It is almost better for the B&W conversions to leave all the filters off. Interesting learning process
Yes, the lenses but also the output of the camera itself. In my opinion high ISO M9 shots provide a nicer type of noise than Canon does.
A couple of shots from a museum in Stockholm, currently exhibiting Chinese terracotta army sculptures. Shot they day before I sent my camera away. Shot in low light. I tried using the Cron first but gave up on it and switched to the one stop faster 50/1.5 Sonnar.
I miss my M9
I think also that I'll need a fast 35 mm lens some time in the future for handheld low light photography.
