When you mentioned "Trades for other glass will be considered.", which lenses are you referring to?.
I can send you a PM, but I assume the forum wants to inquire as well.
Good question. I probably should have posted this earlier because I've been getting lots of unusual trades, or trades that will not net me what I'm looking for (not anyone's fault but my own). I'm looking for glass I can easily sell back on the forum, so probably newer Canon/Nikon glass.
The only reason I'm considering trades is to help people who can't buy outright. I'd prefer an outright sale however.
Like I wrote before if it wasn't for me already having this lens I would buy this with a mortgage on my house . It is a good price for a very nice optic and i am surprised no one has snatched it up yet. It is a little heavy but whenever I need 200mm I grab it any chance I get. It gets more use then my 70-200 which sits in the bag most of the time. This one is now permanently mounted on my backup D3 which luckily i still have .
Glwts!
Come on all you soccer-Moms/Dads . . . soccer-season is just gearing up, and this lens is near perfect on the smaller fields to capture a whole season filled with amazing images of your kid's team.
At this price point, you'll likely be able to re-sell it down the road without too much loss, and you'll get to use an amazing piece of glass in the time-being.
I've been doing this for the last 2 seasons, along with a Sigma 120-300 F2.8, Nikon 300 F4 AF-s, 70-200VR Mk I, 80-200 AF-s, and 180 F2.8 and nothing compares to the image quality, subject isolation, contrast, and AF speed of the 200VR.
