After seeing all of your beautiful work in this forum, I decided to return to photography. Bought some Carl Zeiss lenses (C/Y) and my eyes were brought to life again. Thank you very much for all contribution, now I think it´s time to try to colaborate too. To begin, I´ll post some (nor too recents) photos I took with my Olympus OM "quiver": 24mm f2 / 35mm f2 / 50mm f1.8 / 55mm f1.2 and a 135mm f2.8. Those are really good lenses, but sadly I´ll have to sell to pay the new "Zeiss" babies. All these pics are from Paraty, an historic village near the Rio de Janeiro city. I used film Fuji chrome Velvia and Ilford HP4. Forgive my poor english...
Thanks for your comments. I'll post bigger images from now. Talking about the Zuiko lenses, I believe they used to render better results when I was photographing on film. On digital (I use a Canon EOS 5D mark II) the results seems to be a little flat, and require some adjust on Photoshop (to gain contrast and sharpness). Zuikos are sharp, but lacks micro contrast that I see mainly on Zeiss lenses, that give the so aclaimed "3D look". On the good side is the clarity of the models 24/2 and 55/1.2.
Now, the pics from Buenos Aires, Argentina. All taken with Zuikos (24, 50 and 135). Some photos was taken with Canon 5D and some with Olympus OM2 on film.
those are very nice shots. I like the different street scenes a lot.
I am sharing your affection for the OM-2, since that was also my camera I started with.
After that, I got sick, very sick ... OM-sick !
Maybe I can share some images, too, taken with my OM-2. But I have to admit, it is quite a long time ago in the mid eightees.
Idurita, I really loved your photos, thanks for sharing! I know very well what is to be "Om-sick". What I most appreciate in manual focus is that we are induced to make the composition and the selective focus.
Oasisbill, I am really happy with my return to photography, and I am very thankfull to all of you from FredMiranda by this.
Jonas, I started to photograph because I love to discover new places, cultures, foods... and to register my visits, and I think with internet now we can share a little of the so magnific and intriguing creation! Hope I can do a little on this way...
Cogitech, DocsPicas and Alexandre, what a honour to have your comments here! Thank you very much...
And I´m waiting for more pics taken with Zuikos, please. I still did not ended my "OM-Zuiko treatment"
