I'm hoping someone has some info about this organization. I received an e-mail from them saying I was "juried" into their competition (I never entered it as far as I know) and my $45 entry fee had been "paid for" to submit ten images to be published in their annual "Best of" book with a guaranteed two-page spread.
Now, I'm used to getting e-mails like this that are scams. It would appear some want to get the rights to images, others want to sell you something (as if photographers are a rich and untapped market!).
What made this different from most is that they said they reviewed my website and actually appeared to be familiar with the subject matter of one of my portfolios. I cannot find any information about rights to images after submitting, and a google search is not turning up any "scam" - type listings, which is usually what I find, or much info at all, in fact, other than this organization's website.
Please excuse the bump but I want to try one last time as there has not been any response. It appears no one has heard of Kennedy Publishing or their Best of Worldwide Artists books. It does appear to be a way for them to get free images for their books with no payment other than "promotion" of your artwork, so I'm inclined to dismiss this as just another scam. If no one has heard of them or sees their books, can't be much promotion I'm afraid.
