Thank you for drawing my attention to the obvious.
However, the "matching bayonet hood" is available in two hoods flavors. Separate hood (12059) and integrated hood.
For your information, there are some late serial numbers of version 1 with an integrated hood which look like a version 2 but are not the same optical build.
The matter is not straightforward and thus my question as to what is the lens serial number to determine in case it is a version 1 or version 2.
As the OP is mentioning some distortion, the assumption is that he has a version 1 as version 2 does not have such optical distortion
Ha-ha! Well, the prize goes to Thrice and Carsten! Yes, it is the version 1 with the bayonet lugs (mine came with the hood in mint condition).
I'm debating keeping it or selling it. The color is gorgeous, and the curvature makes it an interesting selective focus optic. But if one is looking for standard flat field of focus, this isn't the lens for traditional landscape.
thanks, wish there had been some way for me to clean the window i took the shot out of. a fair bit of contrast was lost.
Well, I don't know if you cleaned it up at all in post, but to me the tone and colors are perfect. Stronger contrast around the trees might've been nice, but I only noticed the fourth time or so I looked.
OK guys, I really, really like my Leica R 60mm f2.8 Macro.
I guess it's as close to the "Zeiss look" as possible to me.
I'm not a huge Leica rendering fan and this lens seems to be different.
Can you recommend another R lens with the same kind of rendering?
I've seen some really great stuff taken with 50mm f2, but I've also
seen some stuff looking exactly like I don't want it to look.
35mm f2 maybe? What do you think?
Have you compared the Contax 60mm SP or MP with R60?
I have never tried Contax 60mm f2.8 macro.
I own Zeiss 100MP f2 and I have tried Zeiss 50 f2 Macro.
Leica R60 is less "aggressive", but contrasty and powerful enough.
Do you think Contax 60 Macro is different enough than those 3?

I haven't tried Contax 60mm Macro, or Zeiss 50 & 100 MP.
Just want to know your opinion about these lenses.
I think Contax & Zeiss Macro lenses are quite similar, it depends on what kind of rendering style you like.

Yes, I like the R 50mm f2 v1 more than R35mm f2 v1. Here is some examples of R35.
