How's this one perform with coma? Can't really tell from this image size.
Hi Lee,
At 100% I would say that it looks very good. I believe that I am just starting to pick up a little arc pattern to this at 15 seconds. That is why for most of the Star Photos that for most of the images I switched to ISO 6400, lens set to f2.8 for 8 seconds.

Can I please consult the experts about using R lenses on the Sonys please? I have been using M lenses very happily (apart from 35 Summicron asph!) and would like to try some R fitting ones.
I also use some Nikon F mount lenses on it, with a Nikon G type adapter with aperture control, when using the AiS type lenses this gives me effectively a 'pre-set' aperture which speeds things up. Is there an adapter to Sony for R lenses which has this 'feature'? I can find plenty for Nikon, Canon Fd and Pentax, but all the Leica R to Sony or Leica M that I can find are simply dumb adapters, so aperture control would be completely manual, same as with the M lenses. No problem for landscape but something quicker would be nice!

To the best of my knowledge there are no Leica R or Leica M to NEX adapters that offer that offer auto aperture. Everything must be adjusted by hand and either focused wide open and stopped down. It is possible at least at times that you may try to use the R or M lenses at the working aperture becuase the camera can be set to automatically adjust for the brightness of the scene. But, it can be challenging.

Bring D810/D700 with 14-24, 80-200f4.5AI, 20G, 55OTUS, 35/50/90Cron R. 55OTUS for night sky, 80-200 for horsetail fall, 14-24 for night and morning out, 20G/35/50/90cron with me on hiking. D810 for landscape, D700 for family reportage.
Weight? not a problem in this case. The more I use Nikon the harder for me to choose different system. At cold night, you will appreciate the button size and location as well as quick customer access for a few really needed manual item.
