And by the way guys, is the 35 mm f/4 PA Curtagon a good lens?
I just bought it. Got it today, thus my experience is limited. In the center it's absolutely sharp, shifting it's becoming weaker in the corners and some distortion is noticeable there. 7mm shift is may be small, but already useful. Vignetting is low from f8 on. May give a good effect, because it's less visible on the side where it's shifted to.
Geometry and 3d is good, colors are different from the leica style of my 35 Summi.
That second to the last photo...I was under the impression that the 180mm telyt 3.4 would not give sharp head shots.
It obviously does. I had the lense on the camera, when this man with the extraordinary eyes appeared. I photographed him from the minimal distance the Apo-Telyt allows, i.e. a little less than 2m, and that's the result.

Hi Thomas, beautiful images! Out of curiosity, which version of the Summicron 50 are these images taken with? Older first version or later version with built-in lens hood?

60/2.8 macro...for around $550-650US.
It's the best quality-versatility-value for the $$$ in the R lineup IMHO.
While I don't think you can go wrong with either the 35 or 50 crons (and not just because I have a 50 'cron for sale in the B&S forum), I second the 60 mac recommendation. Highly versatile and crazy good.
i got my 50/2 e55 for ~$300 and upgrade to a 50/1.4 e55 for < $1,000. the 60/2.8 is tempting too. i would really like to see a 50 cron & 60 macro comparisons.

Wonderful child portrait. Will you post the color version? I'll bet those eyes are very blue....
They are actually more gray than blue... Here is another portrait, this time in color and made with Leica R APO 100/2.8 macro:
Frangipani Flower, La Gomera, Canary Islands / Spain
(the gray background is tarmac, the tree stands right next to a street)
APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 2.8/100 at f8 on EOS 5D MKII
Leaf veins (Mangrove Tree), Morondava / Madagascar
APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 2.8/100 at f5.6 on Leica R8 (Velvia50)
(Original slide scan, no PP! I was often asked how I did achieve the V-shaped DOF-plane, just parallel to the ‘vein-Vs‘: The leaf had a slight angular shape (folded along the central vein), and the shot was taken from an angle to get the DOF-plane parallel to the ‘vein-Vs‘)

I would also be curious as to how the 50 Summicron and 60 Macro compare, particularly the bokeh and contrast at 2.8.
