Fantastic, as usual.. Your shots actually inspired me to pick up the 28mm.. I couldn't swing the $$ for the E55, but I'm enjoying the v1!
I was surprised at how well it does, everyone seems to trash it in relation to the E55. I was expecting it to not even be on the same level as my CY 28 Distagon, and it's at least as good as the distagon, IMO.
I actually shot a couple scenes with the Distagon, Elmarit-R v1, and Sony FE 28mm f/2 to compare, and IMO, at wider apertures, the Leica has better corners than the Distagon.. They both get soft, but the Leica seems to retain more corner sharpness than the Distagon before going soft.
Brandon, looking at your test shots I totally agree about performance of Elmarit-R v1. If you shoot it at mid apertures, the lens should be a very good performer plus very light and compact as a bonus.
As for the v.2, don't forget the these two designs are 24 years apart and v.2 has floating elements and other technical advantages not available during v. production time. Also, according to Puts the v.1 had various changes over the years that "improved balance between center and the edge performance"
Wow, excellent shots. I'm tempted to pick up a 90 cron or elmar, but I'm going to wait until the Batis 85mm arrives. I'd love to have a good MF lens in that range, but I'm not sure it would get any use if the Batis turns out to perform as expected.
I use the Novoflex tripod adapters, but flip the collar so the tightening screw is on the other side of the lens. While I find them well made, it would be nice to find something cheaper.
I have found they also fit a couple of non-Novoflex adapters.
Here is an image from last evening and cross posted in the Sony A7/A7r/A7s thread taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo Telyt and my A7r in New Tripoli, PA. ISO 100, lens set to f16 for 1/20 second and Processed in LR6.
I use the Novoflex Adapter, with it I use the Novoflex ASTAT rotating collar for at least my 100mm Apo-Macro-Elmarit, 180mm f3.4 Apo Telyt, and my 80mm-200mm f4 Vario Elmar lenses.

I use a fifteen dollar Fotasy adapter
Thanks all for the feedback on the Novoflex Leica R to Sony E Adapter Tripod solution.
I'd like the Novoflex solution but at $200, I'd prefer something cheaper!
Any chance of a link to a Fotasy Adapter? I couldn't locate one that seems appropriate?
Is the adapter the same size as a Canon or Nikon lens? There are hundreds of Chinese eBay clones for buttons but I'm unsure if one might be suitable.
Otherwise I'll bite the bullet on the Novoflex, it's more than I paid - new - for the adapter itself though which grates. I could probably buy Metabones adapter + generic L-Plate for less too.
And finally an older 50 Cron-R shots since this is an Images thread (sorry.)
Here is a cascade image cross posted in the Sony A7/A7r/A7s thread and taken down stream of Dark Hollow Falls, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 lens, ISO 200, lens set to about f16 for 0.8 second; processed in LR6.
