Jon, I spent a lot of time with D700 by this way and it's not mine now
I posted here shots from HD2+PB, maybe year ago
Worldinlens I remember your shots from about year ago, we have also had some short discussion. I was investigating medium format digital backs lately. I have found some over 500 pages thread on some russian forum with the digital backs and there were many many pictures, most of them really outstanding, colours, clarity and 3D unreachable to 35mm DSLRs
I have been thinking of trying either Mamiya or Contax 645 bodies with some of the older 645 digital backs.
I do not know if putting Leica R lenses on these via some adapters is possible though, but there are also many Mamiya/Contax/Zeiss lenses for this system.
As said somewhere here before I do not buy the pictures we get out of today's multi milion pixels, low noise at high ISO bodies, sorry, they are flat, plastic and with flawed colours, even with Leica lenses. The best digital bodies to me are Leica DMR and Canon 1Ds MKI. There are probably few more which I may not know like some Olumpus but everything what came later from Canon, Nikon and Sony produces the picture I do not buy personally. And medium format digital back, at least the pictures I have seen kill all the above hands down in all aspects.
Is there any superiority in this early Kodak Digital Back over later DBs you think?

I can't compare Kodak PB's with no any other backs. This is a diamond like a Fuji s5 Pro. Some time ago I had thoughts about Phase One P25 but after many raw's forgot it. Kodak PB have an unique sensor and it have been installed only to Kodak (and some other little-known devices)
Mamiya 645 or Contax 645 - depending from your budget only
Very soon seems I'll got the non-working Mamiya AFD body for disassembling... What I saw before regarding internal design of AFD body gives me a very little optimism.... but hope dies last I'm very like an idea to attach leica-r lenses...

Alex, beautiful images as always. such a pleasing color and Bokeh. I can't read Russian but they are not from Leica Lens, are they?

Thank you Michael! Yes, there is not a leica. Few old zeisses mostly (from hasselblad 6x6). I'm just a dreaming to do possible to shooting with favorite Leica-R lenses on full area of 645 format (hmmmm.... or 'just' mine 37x37mm frame)
I fear that I've become a lens-carrying member of the zoom club. Both from the 35-70/4:
On the other hand, I've just about given up on getting pleasant color from the Sony. I feel like they've made the choice to use a weak Bayer filter in order to maximize high sensitivity, leading to shifts in greens and reds that I can't quite figure out. The next question is what difference a Fuji or M 240 might make...or if Alex figures out a way to mount R lenses onto other MF backs, that might be appealing too. Questions to ponder as my camera fund recovers.
Bought myself back 35cron R and adding a 90 cron R. With 50cron I have, now I have a light weight portable R lens set again. I regret sold my Lux tri at the time my priority change but I am happy with what I have right now. DF is a good reason for me to use Leica R. (though I never be able to get D700 color consistently)
I'm finding it difficult to process with curves. I fixate on getting the contrast just right in one part of the scene and don't notice it going completely wrong elsewhere. Hm. Still fun, though.
I know I should contribute more in this thread. I still use R a lot during weekend or any family out. The bag hold my M9 with 2 extra lens also can hold 35/50/90cron with DF
