This is cross posted in the Sony A7/A7r/A7s image thread. I thought that you might like to see what I have been doing for the last 18 or so years participating at Art Shows. Images taken at the New Paltz Art and Craft Show this past Labor Day weekend. But, I may be retiring from Art Shows after this year due to the economy. All 5 posted images taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica R 28mm f2.8 V2 Elmarit lens. Images processed in LR5.6.
Images on display in white Mat boards are Fuji Crystal Archive Photos printed by a Chromira machine.
All images without mat boards are metal-aluminum prints. The largest 2 Metal Prints are 32" X 40" in size.
Images on display in the photos were taken with the following cameras:
Linhof Technikardan 45S
Linhof Super Technika IV
Leica R4SP
Leica R7
Mamiya 7II
Canon Power Shot G9
Canon Power Shot G10
Panasonic Lumix G1
Fujifilm X-E1
Sony A7r
I feel like I've been slumping a bit, so I tried mixing it up and went out last night. Not great photos, but better than what I have been making; progress is good. :-)
A few observations:
-All with the 21-35 around f/5.6 or f/8 on a Speed Booster mk I and NEX-7. I think "safe" was around 15mm (nee 21mm), while the others were around 21mm (nee 30mm).
-The flare characteristics are interesting. (No hood was used. I was working sloppily.) The starbursts are mundane but the glow-and-fall-off is nice. Some reflection blobs but rather little veiling at high contrast lines. At some point, I might rent an A7 just to see what's Metabones and what's Leica, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.
-I never thought that a 30 second capture would have such significant star trails! Always learning.
-Full sized photos (after slight crops) are available on Flickr if anyone's interested.
Hoping that Leica-R's are feeling some love outside this board. Parting with my 35mm e55 Summicron, trying to get good money for it. Trying for 1200$ and I even have the box. Ebay prices are very high but not sure they are they selling. (2,000$ for mint, 1400$ for beat up looking lens)
Richard, that's a nice looking gallery of photo's you have.

This is cross posted in the Sony A7/A7r/A7s image thread. Here are some images taken last evening at the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA just before and about 6 minutes after sunset (and about 68 minutes after moonrise). The full moon is actually this evening, September 8. Images taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 280mm f4 Apo Telyt lens and my Leica 2X Apo Extender with my A7r camera. Images processed in LR5.6.
jhinkey, I love you photos from Washington! Especially the ones with the boats and the yellow sunset. What body of water (lake?) in WA did you capture those photos?
I've sold my A7 and haven't posted in this thread since then, but I'm looking into leitaxing a few R's to get the ball rolling again.

Thanks!
That would be Puget Sound. The ferries are usually on the Seattle-Bremerton run. I have permission from a homeowner to use their back yard to take pics - it has a nearly unobstructed view of the Puget Sound and the Olympics.
I need to change it up sometime soon and go to my other place that's on the North end of Elliot Bay that has a view of downtown as well as the Olypics - it's just a bit of a pain to get to so I don't go often.

The A7R loves my 135/2 APO Zeiss, 180/3.4 Leica APO Telyt, and my 90/3.5 APO CV SL-II. Getting perfectly focused shot hand-held is so easy compared to my D800. My D800 has become my tripod queen while the A7R does a lot of hand held work.
Hey all, not sure if this is the right place to ask this but 1 or 2 quick questions
I bought an 80lux online from the leicashop vienna, rated A- and described as mint. The exterior is pretty much mint, 1 little nick but the hood arrived unscrewed (so i screwed it back and now its fine, but a tad loose). Is this normal/alright? Not too fussed about this
Also, there's not a lot of dust given its a 16 year old lens, but a few little marks and cleaning marks and no fungus as far as i know. The cleaning marks do bother me, but from the other leica R's the same age or older, i've generally seen about the same amount of dust but far worse cleaning marks/obvious but none i've checked affect image quality at all. Here the marks a tad faint and only a handful and resemble more of those residual end bits after a wipe. They definitely do not affect the images as far as i know, on my nikon which i successfully leitaxed (also i realised the dandelion chip doesn't mean I can change my aperture in camera and the value corresponds in the lens, i thought it would but now i figured it's just for AI-S lenses)
If this is the wrong place I'll start a new thread, but just want 1 or 2 answers from diff members to check.

I have family in Puyallup area and I see such great photographic opportunities whenever I make the road trip to Washington to visit them. Much more than where I am. I wish the sunsets over here weren't as dull over here (everything is flat). The sunsets and activity on the water over at the Puget Sound and Olympics are fantastic! I could watch the boats all day.

I had the 135/2 APO Zeiss in ZE mount, and boy was that and the a7 combo a bit awkward to use. The lens was bigger than the camera that I felt at times the camera wasn't there and I was peering down into the back of the lens mount like a spotting telescope! I wish I had the 135/2 in the Nikon mount. I don't think I would have sold it if it were, but there are the R Telyts though....hmmmm. You are right though, the magnified view and focus peaking of the a7 make MF a breeze. Even with custom focusing screens in my previous DLSRs, I had a bit of trouble nailing focus with MF glass. I think my eyes aren't what they use to be. Haha!
I notice you have a collection of tele's that you use on your a7r. Do you have any other R glass that you've adapted as well? After thinning out my R flock, I 'll only have the 35 & 50 cron and a 35-70/4 vario-elmar to leitax. Once I get the mounts, I'll be sure to post once again in this thread.
