Hi All. Haven't posted in a while. Looking back through the pages there are so many beautiful shots.
I bought a heap of button cell batteries to start shooting with my second hand R4 but am running into frustrations with the notorious electronics. So I'm still mainly using the lenses with the A7.
These are cross posted in the A7 (r) thread and are some images that I took last evening of wildflowers taken at the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA with my tripod mounted Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit lens and my Sony A7r camera. All images processed in LR5.4.
Hi ocean2059...you know, they are pretty close, in a sense. I think the 90 was sharper stopped down at mid distance, and they both have great pop, too. The 90 was(already sold)much smaller and lighter, too. It was a great lens, with lots of character, and really does stunning portraits with the Mandler glow.
BUT...there's a reason the R80 commands the respect that it does...it has a look that no other lens has that I've ever had. Granted, I probably have limited experience compared to lots of members here, but this lens just sings! The bokeh is gorgeous, the separation is incredible, and it too has that Mandler glow...
Others could most def give you the technical aspect of why. I haven't had the lens long enough yet, but already I'm in love. I love shooting WO most of the time, and this lens begs to be shot as such.
It just has the look...check out other users with it; zhangue, xenon99, Jako, to name a few...all way more experienced users than I am, and their images are what drove me to get one.
