Xenon99....great first shot! With the 50 E60, too! That lens must be a beast on the A7? Going to rent an A7 from Roger in the next month, and can't wait to try my 50 Lux E55 on it!!
Worldinlens...is the optical formula very different from the E55 to the E60 Lux?? That shot above, and yours with the E60 are quite stunning!
Gregg
The Lux 50/1.4 E60 is a very, very special lens and does not compare from far or near to the 50 E55....and that's only my take on it.
Alex will give you his feedback and you can read this in the mean time:
Erwin Puts:
Test report of Summilux-R 1:1,4/50 (E60) (#3797918).
"....the new 1,4/50 Summilux-R defines the current state of the art of large aperture standard lenses. It outclasses the previous version of the 1.4/50 Summilux-R by a clear distance. It edges ahead of the current Summicon-R and improves upon the current Summilux-M 1.4/50. Nonscientific comparison pictures with the Summicron-M show comparable performance in most picture taking situations however. The current Summicron-M is still the high speed standard llens to beat."
LtZ...thanks for the kind words!
Almass...thank you! I find that my 50 R Lux E55 puts almost every other 50 that Ive used to shame. From the Canon 50's(L included), Contax, ZE(although the MP is pretty close!),and the Nikon 50 1.2 AIS. In most respects, anyways...just my opinion, although I know I'm opening a can of worms!!! And I do love the 50 Cron's, too...I have yet to try the newest versions of Leica(probably not going to happen anytime soon!)...

Gregg, I have been looking for a 50R Lux E55 since I saw many of your wonderful images here. In the meantime, my 50 R Cron will do.

If you like the Lux 50/55, you can only imagine what will happen when you try the Lux 50/60!

Gregg, yes different of course. More lenses inside, different coatings, 8-blades aperture.
In fact e60 delivered to us more smooth bokeh rendering, better work against sun, resolution across all the frame better. Regarding resolution on the close focus it's equal to E55, but this is all On the middle and far distances at WO resolution very expensive, esspecially in high contrast conditions. Also stopped down lens delivered a great perfomance. Be careful, on the middle and far distances can be illusion that DOF much smaller than E55 ver. because very high resolution and contrast in the DOF area and very smooth separate zone between DOF and background. I noticed this effect sometimes even on landscapes. Only one drawback of E60 WO, sometimes on middle distances u can notice that background bokeh circles in the corners... Hmm... "Bokeh triangles" there like to triangles not the circles This is some kind of coma effect and few fast lenses in this range have similar effect but not all
LZ, Gregg, Xenon99 - fabulous images! You guys seem to keep this R-thread going.
I will be processing Leica-R shots from a recent trip so more to come in the next few days.
Love this thread!
I currently have a Nikon D7000 and a Fuji X-Pro1 bodies.
Would like to use Leica R lenses on one of them.
Can any of you tell me which one it would be better going with an adaptor for?
Any experiences you've had with one or the other as far as focusing, metering, etc., would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Dear Robert,
You can use Leica R lens on Nikon D7000 and a Fuji X-Pro1 bodies, on Nikon body you must replace the Leica R mount to Nikon mount and on Fuji X-Pro1 you only buy adapter and attach it on Fuji X-Pro1 body, all of them you can buy on ebay.com
