Saph -- You make my day with the "NoIceSkating" shot. Thanks for sharing. Love it.
LtZ and Picture This! -- Thanks for the comments In fact, it was the first shot I took after arriving in SF. My family and I just finished dinner at the Capital Restaurant on Clay Street (backdrop) and he came down from the stairs next to the restaurant. Since it was quite dark outside, I managed to inch my way next to him to make that shot. By the way, the chicken wings at the restaurant was quite tasty. My kids twisted my arm to have lunch there the following day.
Continuing with the last of the night shooting, here are a few of the iconic SF images... on board the cable car and the niners! Slight flare below the flag due to my NEX adapter.
Alex - great family captures. Love it!
Jon Tainton - moodiness of your woods captures is really growing on me. Please keep posting more it it
Gregg - I don't see you parting with Leica-R glass or not expanding your R collection
Kokusai - Thank you. Great captures on your own and a very unique contribution to this thread
Someone asked about Summilux-R 80 sharpness when stopped doen and farther distance. The test shot below was taken at f/4 and around 4-6 meters away. It gets better with distance! http://www.kozera.ca/photos/images/_DSC0564_f4_640.jpg
Philippe, your fine shot reminds me of Don's work, it just looks a bit more like elder-care than like a spy-novel-covershot Hope you don't mind, this was my first thought after seeing this image.
Two images from today with the 100 AME, the combination of heavy rain showers and some welcome sunlight to bring out the colour in mixed oak and beech woodland.
I'm getting super excited seeing all these wonderful photos! I will be getting my first Leica lens (50mm Summicron-R) tomorrow! I can't wait to try it on my a7 and post some (noob) shots here.
AG -- Your 50 cron in yet? Let's see some pics...
Jon - I like the tree with layered branches shot. The branches coming down at the same angle are interesting.
LtZ -- Nice use of shadow and light. Great shot and composition. Looking forward to your next...
Jack - Agree with the rest -- interior shot of the car is very special.
OK. Time to share some car shots myself. These were taken in the beautiful city of Carmel, California over the holidays. Enjoy...
LtZ -- Thanks for the comments. We were looking for parking and at a far distance I spotted this beauty. So, I had to return to the spot to capture these snaps. Also, I'm attracted to anything red and black which the Leica R lenses render quite nicely.
Time for some people shots using the 90 cron...

I just received both of my 50mm cron-R's today! My cam 1 & cam 3 crons came in.
I brought the camera and lenses with me to work since I'm too eager to play with them. I won't have much to show from being at work since I'm in a cubicle environment and I work the swing/graveyard shift. I do plan on going out this weekend and snapping a few shots with both lenses. I went ahead and ordered another R-to-E mount adapter for the lenses since it's a pain taking one off to mount the other.
Question though: The cam 3 (E55) takes a 55mm threaded filter, correct? What about the cam 1? I don't see any markings on the lens or hood to indicate what filter or lens cap to use as that lens only came with the rear lens cap and the hood.
@AG...awesome news on your 2 Cron purchase! Excited to see some images!! I love the 50 Cron loaner(which I still have!), that it made me go and buy a 50 Lux!!! I love the Lux, but looking at LTZ pics, you really don't need anything else!!!
@ Kokusai...love the shots from Carmel!! That place can have some of the most wonderful cars ever!! Ocean Ave(the main drag to the beach) has hosted lots of car shows over the years, with a lot being a prelude to the Concourse D'Elegance, on Pebble Beach!!!
You were almost in my neck of the woods...I live an hour away from Carmel, just outside of Santa Cruz!!
Haven't posted in awhile, but should see some from me tonight....
Gregg
Gregg - Thanks for the info on the Concourse D'Elegance. I just checked their website and the event takes place sometime in August. I would love to attend the event this year.
AG -- Congrats on your 50 cron's. Yes. The E55 takes 55mm thread. The other version (Series VI) is a little bit more complicated. If you have the original hood (Part # 12564), then you will need the matching lens hood cover (Part # 14163). Then you will also need a series VI retaining ring (Part #14160) if you were to use drop in filters.
