Picture This!...Great Maui shot...looking forward to our nest trip there. We usually go once a year to Kauai, while my father-in-law tries to visit at least twice! In fact, he just bought property in Princeville, Kauai...
Michael...haven't seen you post in awhile! Happy New Year to come! Nice shots of your boy...gotta love the Lux!
LtZ...I would love to see the color version of above pic...I bet it would make a GREAT conversion to oil painting in CS6! And I do like the BW version as well!
Jabberwockt...Thanks for the info... I have found what I needed. Now just wondering if I want to grab a 90 Cron? I'm still having fun with my 50 Lux, and don't want to spoil the relationship!!!
Thanks,
Gregg
thanks Gregg. Kauai is next on my list... Maui is super fun but there seem to be more photographic possibilities in Big Island and Kauai from what I've seen. I do have a bunch of shots from maui that I'll post over the course of the next couple weeks. --Manu
I don't know, LtZ? I think I really like both. In CS, there is a tab where you can do what's called "oil painting", and the end result can be really cool. When I see the color version, in my eye, that's what comes to mind! Needless to say, I love your photographic eye!

Cool! Where is here? Don't you live in SF? I'm only an hour away if you do!

yeah, i live in SF. these were all taken in portland though. i'm pretty sure they have them throughout california too, though i don't recall ever seeing one there.
Thanks gents! Nice to see more R-posters in this thread. I have to admit that I am glad I already got all R glass I needed (I think I did!) otherwise with recent popularity of Leica-R finding decent glass at decent price must be much tougher.
Just out of curiosity...for those of you that have the 80 Lux. It looks absolutely incredible WO, and I'm basing that on shots I've seen throughout the pages of this forum, not my experience. But, how is stopped down sharpness? Taylor's last shot at 5.6, is the only one I think I've seen stopped down! In comparison, I know the Zeiss 85 is a beast around f4/5.6...what about the Lux?? And how does it stack next to the 90's(Leica's), too? I have the Sigma myself, and can say I think the smallest I've shot it at is f4, where is is also incredibly sharp!! Not looking to start anything, I'm just very curious....

My (ex-) copy was soft wide open, but a kind of soft-over-sharp look. There was resolution there, but with a veil. Stopped down it is a razor, starting about f/4-5.6. I have not compared it to the Zeiss (which I have now), since I never owned them both at the same time, but they are both fantastic lenses. I would say that overall perhaps the Leica is very slightly stronger, given the smoother boke and less CA, but they are both fantastic.
