Does anyone in this thread has any experience with the Leica Vario-Elmar-R 21-35/3,5-4 ASPH? I'm primarily interested in it for landscape so the fact that it is a little slow doesn't bother me.
$10K for a seller who hasn't had a sale since 2011 and will only ship to the US (to be fair, I have no reason to doubt the legitimacy of the sale and didn't contact the seller since I had no plans to bid after it shot up to 5K in the first 48 hours). With only a rumored 200 in existence, will this lens ever lose its value?

It is considered to be one of the finest zoom lenses ever made. I knew that these lenses had been selling in the vicinity of $10,000. But, I will live with it's poor relative the 35mm-70mm f4 Vario Elmar which has but one Aspherical element and performs quite well in its own right.

LIghtweight and small volume.
A bit fiddly to focus on my C5ii even using the manual focus screen, but given time to fiddle with live view, that is irrelevant. Do remember NOT to put the lenscap on when the sunshade is in use, or you will have to have very small fingers to get it off again.
Otherwise no problems, not much stray light or odd reflections and the usual Leitz optical quality.
