Helimat, 6d +50cron is a dream set up in my mind. Nice images. with 6d's low light performance, f2 might be the only aperture needed. the total weight is less than my D700 body only. I put high hope on 6d with 35/50cron system. I should get the body early next week.
A question for you: with D700, I have DK-17 1.2 magnifier for it. I know Canon have something available as well, do you use it or ever used it?
I have tried it, but long ago on my 20D before I was really into alt gear. I remember it making it harder to see, but that was also on the 20D's tunnel-finder. So far I have had pretty good success focusing it with the EG-S screen installed. It is a nice small & light combo... There are a few limitations with the 6D, but none that are detrimental in my opinion.

Wow, love the 3D and Bokeh. Somehow, I feel you change the PP style with R. And I really like it. I feel it emphasis Leica 50cron's rendering 'quality'. the sense of realness, but not a picture.
Helimat, thanks for the reply. I will see how I like it without 1.2X. I fully agree your opinion with 6D. I test drive it three times before I finally commitment with it over 5DIII, D600 and D800. I pick lens with a only a blink of eyes when I found right one, but not body
Jonesyallday, That is 35lux R, there is only one version of that lens. D700 has pretty strong AA filer, and the pattern not fine enough to cause trouble. so it is OK. I was trying to say that this 35lux R seems perform better than its MTF suggested as well. But with D700, I don't feel I am qualified. I will test it once 6D came. could be I am at f8, MTF chat is at f5.6. Maybe CarsteinW can chime in
50lux R WO
Family shot. But again, I feel only FF DSLR with bright VF, zero Lag, S-type screen and focus by eyes can capture the scene I needed. I am the only limit factor not 81 point AF.

Having both, I can highly recommend the 6D over 5D3 for alt gear, the 5D3 sucks balls for manual focusing. I use the 5D3 for AF pretty much exclusively, other then when on a tripod with live-view. I think you will like the 6D, the wifi setup is pretty cool too.

That looks a lot like my C/Y 50/1.4 MM. Including PF and glow. Maybe bit less PF (mine has quite a bit of blue PF).
Bit suprised, thought its better.. Are 50/2 better in controlling PF WO?
George, E60 not best of the best, and most good 50's are similar less or more. But WO really powerfull, especially on the d800. One day I'll try to shoot with d800 (not mine). I think maybe try remove AA filter on the D700? Don't know...

Hummm, few comments:
1- The 50/1.4 in both versions namely the APO M and the E60 are indeed best of the best across all brands in the same focal lens.
2- And yes, you are right the E60 shines on the D800/E.
Maybe is is a good time to do a side by side shoot with a D800/E and a D3s with an E60 (@1.4 and 2.0) and an E55 (@2.0)....when I get some time free!
3- All 1.4 across all brands/focal lens are soft on the periphery.

1) Almass, I means overall, not about sharpness only. For example, E60 have bokeh circles in the corners... Hmmm... Circles? No, true triangles. And I dislike this. This is common issuie for many lenses, but not for all. Based on the some kind of coma effect.
2) I guess that E60 would be amazing on the D800. I was impressed after R80, but E60 much better anyway. If you do this I promise to shot something nice on the E60 and post here I'm kidding
3) True. For minimize this the lens must be a huge by size. Btw, the new Zeiss try to going by this way.
