I can see you took your new APO-Macro out and made some very, very nice pictures. Great clarity, great colours and a good eye. I'm looking forward to more from you, and will certainly take this lense with me to India, together with my new 28Elmarit (2nd version), a 50mm Summicron and the 180mm Apo-Telyt. I still can handle this without the need of a camel.
Thomas
Here are a few from me with the Apo-Macro 100mm. They show a real devil's violinist, who often performs in an underground passageway in Frankfurt. Not only does he play virtuoso stuff like Paganini and YsaÏe, he also plays it pretty well.
All pictures @ f 4 IS0 1250. I didn't always hit the correct focus well and also have problems with the reflexions of the light on his bald head, but I put them here anyhow, as this guy has marvellous facial expressions combined with an extraordinary body language.
Something went obviously wrong:
I wrote a mail congratulating Rolf to his outstanding pictures, especially the last one in the first batch showing a man, and I also wrote that I find the absence of too many circles in the pictures very agreeable. The MR-Telyt 500 obviously doesn't produce the kind of nervous bokeh full of circles as other mirror-lenses do. Sometimes this can be nice, but most of the time I don't really like it.
I know, Rolf. I had a Nikon 500/8 mirror lense, and liked some of the pictures I took, but
to have the doughnut-bokeh in each and every picture was not what I wanted. It still was an interesting experience.
BTW Thomas, bought few days ago 2 cheaper bayonets at China. Still waiting for the shipment. Large price difference (instead of 100 € only 18 €). Will inform you regarding quality issues.
ht77, you really like your 90mm Summicron, and I can well understand why. I 'only' have the Elmarit, but this is good enough for me. Nice pictures of the sea, great colours.
With the new page of flickr I have no idea, how to show my pictures here directly, as I did before. I checked the help-function, but was unable to find the URL of a picture with the '.jpeg' at the end, following the instructions given there. I have an older MAC with the old mouse (no left and right clicks) and don't know what to do.
Two children in the streets of Jodhpur, one with a fantasy costume. The lense was the Summicron 50mm @ f 2.8. I have a printout of this pictures 70x60 cm with pigment colours on Hahnemühle paper that is thicker than the nail of my big toe. It looks absolutely marvellous and cost only 25€ (plus 10€ postage).
So here is another one:
A musician sitting on the steps at the entrance to the palace in Jaisalmer fort, tuning his instrument. Apo-Telyt 180mm @ f 3.4
And a very friendly young man, who gave me a ride on his motor-bike to the main-entrance of the ruins of Tughlaqabad in the outskirts of Delhi (@ f 2):
Thanks Agnius, that's exactly, what I just found out myself. I simply forgot how to simulate the right click on an older MAC.
Thank you very much indeed.
