Guys, great photo.
Alex, you really showcase E60's rendering.
Paul, nice sharpness from 100APO
Dave, the 2nd is great
leonasj, the 4th one has great perspective

Here are few from weekend.

I think it's the edge of a felt lining glued on to the inner surface that pads contact with the lens (my clear filter for the 280/4 has this, but it doesn't stick out a bit to form a "messy edge").

Yes. That's what it is.

X-post from HD Image thread.
Anytime I take out Elmarit-R 28 and Zeiss 2.8/21 .ZF for urban 'scape shooting, Zeiss wins only on a conviniance level. Namely, I have issues with Elmarit-R and Lee filters system. Due to Elmarit's limited hood retraction I cannot use WA 55mm Lee adapter ring. Instead, I have to use 55mm empty UV filter ring then attach Lee 55 WA adapter in order for it to fit. This causes issues with extreme corners shadows. Any suggestion and solutions are more than welcome.

Have the hood surgically removed.

Get a step-up 55-77mm or larger step and a matching large ring for your Lee holder

Thank you telyt & allebaung.
The step-up ring may be a good idea! I may also try one of the slim, low profile filters as well.

Exactly! This is a very versatile way to make both the hood and put like 77mm or 82mm filter on any lens with smaller filter thread.

The only one I know of offhand is a Leica VII-72mm step up ring, then use a 72mm cap on the ring, with or without a mounted filter.

If nothing else, this forum broadens the mind...

Found a few more step-up ring sizes from Series 7 (VII, ~50.8mm filter size) to more common whole MM sizes, such as a VII-55mm ring. Considering the Leica 72mm ring suggestion above, how close/compact do you want the add-on filter and cap to be versus needing to expand a wider angle lens' view to accommodate larger common filter sizes?

edit- getting blind, too - Series VIII (8, ~63.5mm) from your original post! Only Leica's VIII-82mm ring appears from searching. Sorry for original mis-reading.

Thanks. I tried 55 --> 58mm step-up adapter + Lee 58mm WA ring, but still it shows very small amount of roll off in the corners; much less than with 55mm, however. The next size up Lee WA ring I have is 67mm, so perhaps, 55 --> 67mm step-up adapter will do the trick. Will see.

I think it has a 60mm internal thread. I bought a 60 to 62mm step up ring hoping it will work. Thanks for the reply.

I use a 55-77 adapter on the 28/2.8 and have not had any issues. Most of my filters are 77mm and it's just easier to have one set of filters that I use on most lenses.
