Photos have pop and 3D look with both lenses but 90 AA has such a smoothness and richness. I would not hesitate to use 90 AA for portraits but would be more careful with MP100 as its portraits can be unflattering.
Paul, very nice. Is this with 1Ds Mk2 or 5D? Your photos have smooth color, more than I recall seeing on 5D Mk2. This lens and Zeiss 85mm 1.2 Jahre 50th Anniversary are the sharpest lenses in that focal range that I have seen.

Paul: impressive images with Leica-R 90 APO (AA?)
Do you or anyone else knows how this lens compares to Zeiss MP100?
I shoted on MP100, R100/2.8 and V125. Now shoting with V125. But general problem of all macro-lenses - they designed for close range, they has a huge range of focusing ring at near distances, and very-very small range for long distance. Therefore the focus is much more complicated. This is the reason that I watch additional on a normal apo-lenses in this focal length. It's either 90/2 Apo or the new Zeiss 135/2 Apo

I'm very like it! Why this lens cost so much?
Well unfortunately it is both an Apo and Asph lens with an f2 aperture that has exemplary performance. Additionally only 2000 of these lenses were made:

I hope you're enjoying the Lux 75 as much as I am enjoying the Cron 90 APO....
I've tried all models of Canon DSLR, except 1Dx, but I much prefer the files from 1Ds MKII.
They look much less digital....
Maybe It's just me...
Thank you for the info. My main issue or rather inconvenience with Leica-R on DSLR is stop down metering. It's OK when a lens is WO, or shooting on a tripod, but hand held and between f/2.8-5.6 is a drag for me.
Now, why would one spend few $k on a lens and NOT shoot WO is another question

Yep, they go for $4-5k on eBay
I'll have to examine little more, but I got this shot, and it wasn't even directly towards the sun light.
And I changed the angle a bit, and it was okay....
Again, I have to examine it a little more....
Paul, on this images I can see the flare only. Not totally killed contrast.
With R180/3.4 or with Tokina-Bokina you can see a "white shot" in some angles against the sun. This is a one of reasons why I use V125 and V180.
On the near future I must recieved the R280/4 and first test will be same. I'm not shoting the animals or birds, I'm shot landscapes sometimes and half - against sun. Less - peoples. So this is critical for me.
Both the 100 Mac and the 180/2.8 APO handle shooting into the sun well. Actually, even my vII 180/2.8 non-APO handles shooting into the sun better than my first version 180/3.4 APO.

I can confirm it, 100/2.8 - good, 180/2.8 v.2 better than 180/3.4.
I like Lux 75mm a lot. If it's the same optics as 80mm 1.4R than the difference in clarity and sharpness is due to M9 vs. 5D Mk2. 75mm is harder to focus on M9 (than 80mm on 5D) even with 1.25 magnifier.
I will have to make do with the zoom Leica 28-90mm, which is very close to 90mm f2 (but w/o the boke). I am glad that 90mm f2 is in good hands now.
I have 180mm f2.8 APO too and now this is the lens that I won't part with :-).
Yes, 1Ds mk2 has the best rendition among Canon but it's too big and heavy for me :-).

Based on my experience from 90elmarit on M9, a f2.8 lens. I still have hard time to nail focus especially at distance, thus I put 80lux in front of 75lux on my book. It can be more useful with future leica M or DSLR body. Though, focus 75lux might not be a concern with future M.
Paul, nice samples from 90AA, you never short of fancy lens. This is might be the only case that R is more expensive than M with overlap of both.
I know it has outstanding sharpness and colors from your sample, but I am not very convinced with Its Bokeh. But i know Bokeh is very personal.
