Jim - Akul - Sushmit - Wayne - thanks for the interest and support! Snow is on the way.
Akul - the first two are with a Contax 100/3.5 MM on a 5D - I'm really liking that lens - 100m is as long as I need for landscape - that lens tubes especially well - outstanding close-ups.
Wayne - SKIING! Your in luck - this area is due north of Silverton, CO - Storm Peak /13,500' - right side of the second photo, north face - they are running snow cat rides out of Silverton to the base and a lift - on the west face - to the top for open terrain skiing - don't miss out! Should be ready about the end of November - bring your beacon!
This is the big picture using my other favorite Contax 28/2.8 - sorry for the blurr - 25mph winds....Show more →
Beautiful shot with the CZ 28/2.8 too! Especially, during 25 mph winds. Thanks for the mtn ski info. Would love to come out there sometime and hike up and ski down that couloir on the north face. Of course, taking a little time at the top to take some shots with my ZE 21.
bluetsunami - love the first 3 of your last set.
mortyb - beautiful forest series. Really digging the detail texture of moss.
mMontag - Yay lovely shot with CY 28 !!
Peire - Great to see shots with different imagers. I must say I am pleasantly surprised with the result from NEX. The pumpkin shot caught my eyes, Color, texture and detail of it, I feel I can just touch them.

Yes. Cool picture
Did I not do the link correctly? I can see the image I posted to the thread without problem from multiple computers. As far as I can tell, it seems to be working ??

Wayne - I used to be a hard core bump skier in my younger days - I just do backcountry kick/glide/tele these days & put in some serious miles - typical alpine area skiing has just gotten so expensive and crowded - too many tourists. West slope Colorado has some really good skiing however - this area is just up the road from Purgatory / Durango and within reasonable distance to Telluride. Check it out!
One more from the Contax 100/3.5 @ f8 - this one is hand held in lower light - 1/50 - alright - should have used a pod. This mountain is named Red Mountain 3 - honest - I couldn't make this up! It's hard to tell at this FL but the trees in the lower center are about 30-40 ft tall - the lone ones are around 20'....Show more →
Thanks for the ski mountain tip. Haven't done much tele skiiing but I always want to do it sometime in the winter as it is a perfect way to access some beautiful winter scenes for photography. Nice composition on this one, like the contrast of the red dirt/rocks and the evergreen trees.
When I saw the set of benches, I immediately thought of Paul and his bench theme. The line of them reminds me of looking in a mirror with another mirror behind you.

Don't really see a lot of portraits with the C/Y 100/2 but I like what I see in that photo. I've been looking at a lot of pictures with the 85/1.4 and 100/2 and their viability as a portrait lens (the 85/1.4 doesn't even have to be questioned).
Looking for a light option: the 50/1.7 is a good one. The 45/2.8 is also nice, but would hang on the mirror of the 5D2 at infinity (it's OK if you're shooting LiveView though).
I have both 50s f/1.7 and f/1.4 and frankly have a hard time deciding which one is the best. This pic was done with a MMJ f/1.7.

Thanks. I have both and like both for portraits. The sharpness and resolution of the 100 are astounding. This often has people question it for portraiture. The shot above was at f/2.8, and if I was more aggressive at sharpening in PS, you could see individual skin cells... And I don't mean if I oversharpened.
With a lens that sharp, a soft touch in post is all you need for portraits, and you still get the sharp eyes
Problem comes when people treat landscapes and portraits the same in post with the lens. Shooting portraits at f/8 with it might also be rough, but I would not be likely to do that often.

Beautiful series. I like the #2 of first series. From the second series, the second and third shots are my favorite. Very beautiful color of leaves, and the pretty bridge. Great composition on that shot of bridge.

Very nice shots posted! Paul, great shots with the 100/2 and Kodak. Great combo. Kudos for great focusing skillz Grenache, really enjoy all your shots. That 85 looks wonderful. Piere, nice colors. I have the 135/2.8 as well, and I think it's awesome. I should use it more...

A different kind sunset shot. Planar 100/2 on 5D2.
