Mine has got 2 problems which I think should be inexpensive to repair if there are readily available parts but alas...
1) the silicon holding the sensor in place harden and broked off. This probably can DIY a solution but I sent it in as couldn't find someone who could fabricate the below flex cable.
2) the flex cable connecting the LCD PCB to the processor/memory PCB is damaged. This flex cable is folded and needs to be extended when you try to take apart the camera. I suspect the previous owner has been careless in doing so.
Was it 1) above that caused the uneven sharpness across the frame?
took my SLR/c out for a stroll, mounted with OM 35-80/2.8. Not so easy to use. I got a lot of overexposed photos with alternative glass. How do you do long exposure with this cam? I stopped down to f22 and stick a ND4 in front but even at 2sec, the photo is overexposed. Anything beyond 3sec, the camera will not allow me to take, stating the exposure time is too long. Do I need to change the aperture dial on the camera to reflect f22 as well?
BTW, what is the max CF and SD card capacity this SLR/c can support? The 1GB card that I have maxed out very quickly and the 16GB card that I pops in gets write error.

I can only give answers from what I heard...
SLR/c and SLR/n shares the same sensor....
SLR/c and SLR/n is a newer model, so many claim that those are better.
It's not merely becuase they are "newer" that people claim they are better. They ARE better due to a number of improvements over the earlier 14n model leading better performance in the following areas:
1) lower noise (due to both sensor changes and processing changes)
2) faster
3) larger buffer
4) better battery life, power management
5) higher base ISO (160 vs. 80), & expanded ISO range
Learn to use the excellent low ISO (down to ISO6) capability of the SLR/c. No need for ND filters.

Stupidly, I missed the line which said that the actuations were over 100,000 Since the shutter is only estimated to live about that long, I am guessing that I will be using the camera on borrowed time. Has anyone here had a shutter replacement recently? Is there a place in Europe I can have it sent to replace the shutter? Any idea of the cost?

SLR/n is probably more readily available. Buy another one when the shutter count is up. It should be good for 150k-200k.
Midwest in US probably has access to more spare parts. I sent mine there for repair. The repair cost is about the price you paid.

Envy, envy... sooner or later, I have to buy one too.
Why wait, Jørgen? They are not getting any healthier with the years, and the prices are already very low. If I do end up liking this camera as much as I hope, for art photos, I will likely buy another as backup at some point. 14MP with beautiful colours and FF for 600 Euro is a steal.

Well, customs let me off cheap, and I got it for 504 Euro, everything included. Of course, if it craps out after 1000 shots, it won't have been a very good deal, but let's see.
I got it today, it looks mostly great, and many of the accessories are still in their bags. The protective plastic bit on the rear screen was still there. I am guessing that the previous (and only) owner only used it in the studio, tethered on a long Firewire cable, with the battery in. The handstrap is very used, the camera strap is still new.
I need to run through the functions of the camera to make sure it isn't broken in some way, and have printed out the manual. Taking shots and browsing them on the screen on the rear works, and formatting a CF card works. I haven't tested much else so far.
After almost 2 years I have rebought myself a used SLR-n, I ended up being clueless how I could sell it in the first place... Here is a studio shot from my old SLR-n before I sold it, haven't got much opportunity to shoot with my new one yet.
For portraits the Kodak files are amongst the nicest ones to work with, with very good clarity and punch. They also make nice monochrome conversions.
