Well I ordered and paid for one, lets see how long it takes for them to send it to the USA. I ordered it on the 20th of April. I had tried the Sigma 14mm a few years ago and was quite impressed. I really cannot justify the new Canon for the price, so if this lens is any good I will keep it, if not I will sell it. Looking forward to it though.

I emailed them about availability and they said shipping would start next week.

Ebay still shows the lens as not shipping.
You should have gone direct to Foto-tip.pl, their online shop.......
However from my emails from them before they sent my 14mm they only received a very few in the first shipment.
I'm more than pleased with my copy - which doesn't have the distortion some samples (pre-production?) seem to show, and using the dedicated PTLens correction gives excellent results on FF.
Has anyone in the USA received one from the Foto-tip store? I ordered one a while ago and it supposedly shipped on 4/15 but I still have not seen it. Sent several emails, none of which have been returned.
I don't know anything about their store, the ebay rating is good. Is there any advantage to buying via ebay or just go to the store's website and buy? More secure or safe one way or the other?

Prices direct from the store are cheaper!
Lots cheaper.
At least they were for me in the UK - even after the free postage on eBay - I paid for UPS and still saved around £50 over the eBay price................

That looks like a lot bigger saving than what I would get, it currently is $465 US on ebay, and $452US on the foto-tip site.

I have not but they told me that shipping is supposed to start next week and that there have been delays from the manufacturer. We shall see I guess.

I got an update from them and the lens is supposed to ship today, so I am guessing about 10-14 days delivery time. They do not use UPS outside of the EU so it will come US Snail. We shall see. Looking forward to trying it out.

Do post your opinions once you get a chance! I am planning on waiting until it is generally available as I hate pre-ordering and waiting, and waiting wondering when it will ship.

Read my earlier posts.
Mine is sharp at all apertures - f5.6/8 seems the optimum - and doesn't have the funny distortion some people have reported
I'm only going by what I've seen in the lenstip website. Now I've skimmed through this thread and unless I missed it, I don't see you posting any samples of your own so no offense, but your posts are just noise to me without any samples to back them up.
And have a look at the bottom right corner of this pic, you don't even have to go 100% to see the distortion. There are other examples in that Lenstip link.

OK so don't believe me - your loss.
No offence but I'll say again, my lens doesn't exhibit that kind of distortion.
Also things aren't always what they seem.................
if you care to look at the EXIF for that image you will see that it is taken on a D3x and the EXIF shows a focal length of 13mm - exactly what lens that is I don't know (but I suspect that the lens is one of last years pre-production models (date of image is 18-09-2009) which were withdrawn because Samyang weren't happy about the results) PTLens hasn't any distortion correction settings for this Nikon/Samyang combination either; but has for the Samyang 14/2.8 on Canon bodies, and which works rather well - but I assume you won't believe me about that either?.
