Awesome! Mine is somewhere in the thousands. I called them today to see what their schedule looked like and they said hopefully all preorders will be shipped out in a month or so. Give us a great review!
Yay, I was Melody's first Einstein buyer. 10% pre-order discount plus 10% accessory discount was kinda nice. Ellis will probably beat me to a review, as she said it won't ship for another couple days as they're individually testing each unit.

Congratulations. Can't wait to hear if the Einstein works with your Pelican battery packs.
lol...you could have put up a better title to make more people jealous
Pretty funny that someone from this forum is einstein #1. So how many did you order?
Thanks Dave! I'm not worried about that at all, I'm sure Paul would have considered the consequences of doing that.
What I'm looking forward to most in these units is for a project that I've been geared up for for a while, and only these can handle it, involving a 1D at 8FPS and 1/2000 and a couple lights at 20-40ws with high efficiency reflectors on them, each running off a VB2 (the Aims 180 doesn't recycle fast enough). No other portable light on the market can do faster than 1/2000 t.1 at 20-40ws and 8fps.
Kenyee, I pre-ordered 2 AB Max 640's when they were first announced (which is why I'm #1), and then I added another 3 Einsteins to my pre-order when Einsteins were announced. I bought the 2 today with transceivers and if they work well, I'll buy the other 3 when my next pre-order number comes up.
So you were not really the first Einstein order. You were the first ABMax order which is now Einstein. I'd be curious to know what the order number of the first order for the Einstein product. I vaguely recall Paul stating that there were something like 300-400 ABMax orders.
So, did they ship it to you? I thought the first units shipped at the beginning of the week?

Sounds strangely like an idea that I have and ordered mine for. Now I have 6 months to practice with them before the shot can be made ... of course, my pre-order number is WAY higher .... did they make it to the millions?
Paul Buff said they had around 3400 as of the end of March. That's orders though not units.

Congratulations Bacilonur - sincerely. A quick bit of math indicates you should be able to get 8fps at about 40WS with a t.1 of 1/10,000 in action mode. The reflector code named Luap Supreme will by available in about 30 days can produce around f16 ISO 100 with 40WS at 10' . . . maybe a bit more, albeit at a very narrow angle, or can be focused for wider coverage at lower output. More on this soon. This is not your grandfather's reflector. It's in production now. CORRECTION: Looks more like f11 + 6/10 at 10' at 1/16 power. Luap
I know - Luap, quit talking about stuff before its ready . . . one day I'll write a book about why Einstein took so long.
We very carefully tested 15 units today - one was rejected, the other 14 were within +/- 1/10f over the entire power range, including modeling lamp, at 120V and 240V in action and color modes. In color mode, they were 5600°K +/- 50°. Production and shipping with ramp up from here.

One rejection in 15 units is a 6.66% failure rate ..........
Yeh - and the world is going to end in 2012. The 15th unit worked - it was not within the accuracy spec. Also, don't look at the before shipping failure rate . . . look at the after shipment rate.

Luap has spoken !!
Although on a more serious note, if the Einsteins are all we are hoping they are, then I have a suspicion that the world as they know it is about to end for several other strobe manufacturers !
AB.
(So when are you posting the first shipment "Downunder" ?? )
