Thanks everyone for the kind comments. To answer the most common question, there was a very heavy rain storm that went through Waterton causing either a rock slide or just a LOT of red sediment (called Argolite) to wash down this creek (Cameron Creek) which eventually becomes Cameron Falls. The falls are one of the icons of Waterton, and very few people have ever seen them this color. I have heard from only 1 person that this has happened before, and I have never nor has any one we have talked to (including long time residents of Waterton) seen this in print before. It really was being in the right place at the right time, and listening to my husband when he insisted that the falls would turn red. I thought that the sediment might settle out before reaching the falls. Sorry for rambling. Hope this answers any questions. Once again, thanks for the congrats. (Just realized I had sort of answered this question earlier..sorry)
