Reading that you should simply be able to mount the library over AFP then sync it. Not a complete solution but definitely better than previously.

PDF is the industry standard for magazines, books and most other types of printed materials. If created properly, they retain much more information than jpgs with less compression. Whether or not the album companies use them I don't know, but PDF are certainly much more capable than jpgs.

If it's the same as V2 then yes, the license states you're allowed it on a laptop and desktop. In practice though they nobbled it a bit in V2 and used some trixy Bonjour magic to mean that you couldn't run it on two computers connected to the same network at the same time.

It broadcasts throughout the local network and will not run if another copy with the same serial number is currently running. Nothing prevents it from being installed on multiple computers otherwise though.

The LR3 trial doesn't include it. Album design is one thing I've been jealous of. If it has caught up to LR in everything else, I may think of switching as well.
I think Adobe is almost expecting us to use InDesign for album layout which I guess is okay if you want to go that route. It seems they would have no reason to add album support like Apple has given their software lineup already. Apple on the other hand... (pages just won't cut it). And if the LR3 trial doesn't have it then this Aperture 3 has become a whole lot more appealing. Still downloading....
Download now as well. I'm definitely going to be torn. I tried Aperture a few years back and really couldn't get into it. Lets see what happens this time.
Am I the only one that can see the FACES thing becoming very annoying? Hope I can disable it.
Watching video about adjustment brushes right now... man... why do they make everything take SO MANY freaking clicks. That's the thing I hate about Aperture, it's just so much slower to use than LR.
