Beautiful shot Hugh. +1 as to Ray's comments.
Jim
Thanks Jim, previously, I would probably just have passed and returned home without shooting. Now, however, with a closer look, these kinds of conditions can be productive and rewarding. Glad you enjoyed the result.

well done hugh, nice shot and its simplicity i suspect belies its technical complexity
Rob
Hello Rob, thanks for commenting Very astute - these subtle images do require appreciably more processing than one might think. Glad you enjoyed this one.

Neat way of using the different sources of light, the visible and the invisible, the natural and the artificial. Love the colors and the smooth ocean. Pitty you can't smooth the beach (well, you could in fact but that's a lot of work in pre-processing ) and have the wind comb it with undulating patterns.
santiago
Hello Santiago, thanks for commenting. I've been experimenting with smoothing the beach, but adding ripples is probably more than I'm ready for. Glad you enjoyed this one even with the footprints .

Beautiful and simple (simply beautiful ) Hugh - well done.
David
Thanks David, it's kind of making a virtue of necessity with the mostly empty beaches, but the learning experience is enjoyable. Glad you enjoyed this version .

Besides the beautiful color and light here, very cool angular comp, too, Hugh.
Barry
Thanks Barry, Particularly on these very simple scenes, I'm inclined to shoot up or down the beach for the additional element of the shore line. Glad this result worked fro you.

Great combination of natural vs artificial light. I like the lines and angle a lot.
Ute
Hi Ute, previously, at least in my mind, the artificial light was a problem to be solved. In these much simpler scenes it is becoming a welcome element with which to experiment. Glad you enjoyed this result.

This is incredibly tranquil Hugh. I can see why you like to go there.
Morris
Hello Morris, besides the possibility of fine light and good color, at that time of the morning, I pretty much have the beaches to myself except for other 'morning people' . The quiet is welcome and produces the right mental state for photography. Glad you enjoyed this result.
Thanks Sharon, I can never tell on the way to the coast, and don't always know on the way home, and sometimes get very pleasantly surprised at the results as in this case. Glad you enjoyed it too
I REALLY like the shutter speeds you've been using of late. Allows for some almost breaking waves to turn into lines very integral to the composition. Excellent stuff, most excellent.

Great use of shapes here....love the colours.

Thanks for commenting. The various shapes are pretty much defined by trying to fit the other elements into a balanced relationship. It's surprising how often the result seems to 'work'. Glad you enjoyed this attempt.
