Amazing pictures! I reckon most are shot with 5D or other FF body. Would results be similar (at the size we see on screens) with a xxD camera I wonder?

I got some simply excellent results out of this lens on a 20D. Focal lengths are a little buggered, but it did work as a 50-135 lens pretty well. No doubt this thread will be still up when I finally get my new computer running, and I'll be able to show off some of the wares.
As I've noted before--the lens optically is spectacular, but the major use I had for it (general purpose run and gun) make the 24-105 a better instrument for my uses. The zoom is hard to beat in good light and/or tripod use, which seems to be a lot of what we're seeing here on FM.
Thank you, Daniel! I have been keeping my eye on this zoom, even though I have excellent primes that cover the range. I presume that pictures here are the best selection and it takes quite some practice to nail the focus right, especially on xxD.
Well--the nice thing (in good light at least) is there's a lot of pop out of the lens, so you get a pretty good idea when you're in focus. In darker situation--yeah, I missed a lot of shots on my 20D.
I'm using one like this: http://maxsaver.net/67mm-3-in-1-collapsible-rubber-lens-hood.aspx (not from this shop though). The metal one may look nicer but provides little flare protection at the 70mm end. I only use it when necessary, since it needs to be unscrewed to reveal the filter thread and put the lens cap back on, major pain imo. Same with that metal hood, btw...
